  • I'm surprised that Jesus Is King was Kanye's lowest-rated album, especially considering that it sounds fresher than anything that came out in 2019 overall
  • And there is a feeling that this particular release took on all the damage gathered from critics and ordinary listeners after all the bad albums that happened last year
  • The artist's team violated all the deadlines when creating songs, the tracklist was rebuilt several times, some songs were merged six months before today, the mixing and mixing when uploading to digital platforms was in a lousy state, and the timing of the songs was noticeably cut when compared with the original version, sounded on one of the album presentations at the end of September
  • Personally, I really liked this whole experience, because I involuntarily thought that if earlier Kanye communicated with the audience through music, now he is engaged in a dialogue with us through the process of its creation
  • Forget about Kanye in pink polo, you can even forget about Kanye with the gloomy pathos of the Yeezus era, now you are witnessing a new stage in his work, and in 4 years you will miss his bipolar disorder, preferring religious triumph to another crazy idea that has come into the head of your still favorite artist

Jesus Is King is Kanye West’s most arthouse album.

I’m surprised that “Jesus Is King” was Kanye’s lowest-rated album, especially considering that it sounds fresher than anything that came out in 2019 overall. Don’t think fresher = better, because this album is far from ideal. And there is a feeling that this particular release took on all the damage gathered from critics and ordinary listeners after all the bad albums that happened last year.

If all the negative effect after the release of “ye” came to naught with the release of “Kids See Ghosts” (although there is a suspicion

that everyone decided to feel sorry for Cudi and not expose him to fire), then it was decided to wet the novelty to the fullest. Within an hour after the release, the site with user ratings RYM was littered with thousands of reviews, and one journalist friend released a devastating review, which was apparently written during the first listening to the album.

Someone buried an artist like Kanye West for himself, someone liked only 1-2 songs at all, but the maximum score I heard from someone’s lips was 8 points out of 10. The artist’s team violated all

the deadlines when creating songs, the tracklist was rebuilt several times, some songs were merged six months before today, the mixing and mixing when uploading to digital platforms was in a lousy state, and the timing of the songs was noticeably cut when compared with the original version, sounded on one of the album presentations at the end of September.

Personally, I really liked this whole experience, because I involuntarily thought that if earlier Kanye communicated with the audience through music, now he is engaged in a dialogue with us through the process of its creation. We get ...

      • Kanye West - Jesus Is King arthouse album
a minimum of information about how his albums are recorded, but we seem to be taking part in this process, in particular, this concerns the final stage of polishing. “Jesus Is King” was hit a few times, somewhere they raised the reverb, somewhere they played with the equalizer of the vocal tracks, but on “Hands On” they added one line feature of Young Thug. Thanks to such little things, you learn to be attentive, and this is almost the main requirement for a music listener.

The key problem of the main core of Kanye’s audience is the inability

to take a new stage in the artist’s discography for granted. Because of this, that very joke “I miss the old Kanye” was born, because every time the idol of millions departed from the previous style, trying to find something new. Forget about Kanye in pink polo, you can even forget about Kanye with the gloomy pathos of the Yeezus era, now you are witnessing a new stage in his work, and in 4 years you will miss his bipolar disorder, preferring religious triumph to another crazy idea that has come into the head of your still favorite artist.
