  • Lots of people swear by almond and cashew butters, which are fancier, but I love the classic peanut butter and I don't think I'll ever be able to give it up
  • However, if you need to significantly cut on calories or fat for whatever reasons and you are obsessed with peanut butter - this might be a good choice for you
  • Also, this product is convenient for certain recipes like peanut butter drinks and sauces
  • I picked the chocolate version of this peanut butter, cause I'm a chocolate addict, but now I kinda regret it since this limits me to use it only in sweet recipes
  • It's good for the liquid recipes, it can substitute peanut butter if you're cutting on calories ( However, I don't think it's necessary since peanut butter contains good fats) and it's just an interesting something to try if you haven't yet

Peanut butter is an essential part of my life now. Lots of people swear by almond and cashew butters, which are fancier, but I love the classic peanut butter and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to give it up. Powdered peanut butter is still something new to me, even though it’s been around for probably over 5 years. It’s basically the peanut butter without the fat, which is really weird, but it is what it is.

  • I personally don’t think that powdered peanut butter is a good substitute for the regular PB, since peanuts are naturally high in fat and those are the healthy fats which you don’t need to be avoiding, even if you’re trying to lose weight. However, if you need to significantly cut on calories or fat for whatever reasons and you are obsessed with peanut butter - this might be a good choice for you. Also, this product is convenient for certain recipes like peanut butter drinks and sauces.

  • I picked the chocolate version of this peanut butter, cause I’m a chocolate addict, but now I kinda regret it since this limits me to use it only in sweet recipes. And it’s actually not that chocolaty too. The point of this peanut butter is in calories that it provides. It’s only 45 calories per 2 tablespoons serving, comparing to the 190 in regular peanut butter. It also has only 1 gramm of fat. The other macros are pretty much the same.

  • I don’t give up my reguar peanut butter, but I use this for a peanut butter drink. Yes, you heard it right. It’s kinda like the hot chocolate, but instead of cocoa powder I use the peanut butter powder. The best way to make it is on the stove with thw almond milk. But most times I get lazy and make it with hot water, which is still good, but it’s a little problematic to drink.

  • Here you see 1 tbsp of PB2 dissolved in a cup of hot water. Well, actually it’s not completely dissolved. You have to stir it up all the time. However, if you warm up some plant-based milk on the stove and mix the PB2 in it, it will pretty much dissolve in it and create a better and creamier peanut butter drink. There’s also lots of hot chocolate recipes with it online, which I haven’t checked out yet.

  • I also tried using it as a substitute for the regular peanut butter. Here I have 1 tbsp of PB2 mixed with water. It looks kinda gross and a lot darker than a regular peanut butter, you can tell that it’s not real. But even though it’s not as good as the regular fatty PB, it still tastes good.

Overall, I do recommend this peanut butter powder. It’s good for the “liquid” recipes, it can substitute peanut butter if you’re cutting on calories ( However, I don’t think it’s necessary since peanut butter contains good fats) and it’s just an interesting something to try if you haven’t yet.
