The Loft is one of those stores I heard about, but never wanted to go in because it just wasn't my style. Granted, I heard great reviews about the store, but if a store doesn't fit your style then it just doesn't fit your style.

When I first walked into the store I noticed how streamline it was. There is nothing wrong with streamline, but it can get very boring and repetitive quickly. The store was organized well, but the clothing options were decent at best. The style of the store comes off very business casual and classic, and I'm still not sure whether that is a good thing or bad thing based on the clothing options.

One good thing I can say about the store is they have a log of great blouse and slacks options; other than that, I don't even remember half the stuff I was looking at because it was so boring. One of the reasons a lot of women have trouble getting dressed in the mornings because they feel as if they don't have any options for their style, and believe me what I saw on the racks in The Loft made me want to bury my head deep in my covers.

All the clothes were the same to me: boring and unified. If I did see something interesting it was either a print or a pleat. I found a few pretty red pieces which I think was the major problem with the store--it was too monochromatic. I love monochromatic styling just like the next person if I want to come off as clean, professional, or simply streamline my body. However, I felt as if the Loft had too much of it which is probably why I was so turned off by the store.

What I really disliked about the store were the high prices. Some of the basic stuff such as t-shirts were marked in the $20 range, but anything above a shirt was $45 and up. Based on the selections in the store, I didn't feel as if their clothes were worth as much as they were marked because I could have easily gone to Walmart and purchased the same things for less.
Now the jewelry was really pretty and I found a lot of great pieces and even a few statement necklaces. Some of the jewelry I felt were worth their high price point, especially the statement necklaces, and others should have had the Forever21 $3.50 sales price. I guess one's interest in The Loft's jewelry boils down to personal taste and preference.

Overall, The Loft is absolutely not my kind of store. It was too monochromatic which made their clothes too streamlined and boring. Nothing really stuck out for me which defeats the purpose of me shopping there because I like to wear beautiful pieces. There was no real design to the clothes, and a lot of the stuff they carry can be purchased a better store for a lot cheaper. I wasn't impressed by anything in the store except for the mirror that said find your look and own it. The Loft is probably a great store for someone out there, but sadly--and gratefully--that person is not me.
