The time started getting almost unbearably hot even before summer was upon us. I figured that we were going to need at least one more fan, but I didn't want something that wasn't durable. I got the "Lasko 20 Inch Premium Box Fan Model 3723" because it looked durable at the time and was also quite affordable. I haven't regretted my decision since I bought it either.

The Lasko 20 Inch Premium Box Fan Model 3723 is twenty inches tall as the title suggests, and is in the shape of a box. Both the body and the blades are white in colour and made of strong durable steel.

At the front and centre of the fan, you'll see the word "Lasko" is engraved in the round plastic face. At the top, you'll notice that it has a white handle, and next to the handle is a blue dial that can be turned to adjust the speed and force of the winds.

After I bought the fan, I found that there were several disadvantages and advantages that came with it. One the main advantages was the durability of the fan.

I specifically bought it because all the so-called "durable" fans that I've bought over the years, have somehow managed to be destroyed within in a short amount of time. However, I've had this one for a few months now, and I realise that it's just as sturdy as it looks.

For example, I can't emphasize the amount of times that it has fallen accidentally from either me or members of my family. By now one of the other fans would have fallen apart or stopped working completely, but this one not only runs smoothly, but still has all its parts attached.

I can think of one other factor that cane be seen as both an advantage and a disadvantage depending on the situation. As I mentioned, the fan has a blue dial which can be used to adjust the speed at which the blades move, or the power of the breeze coming from the fan. If you take a look at the speeds you'll see 0-3 where 0 is "off" and "3" is the highest.

While the speeds can be adjusted, I think that the disadvantage is that the lowest speed is still pretty harsh. Therefore, what I've found is that if I want to use it sometimes while I'm sleeping, I have to make sure that it's not pointed directly on me because it becomes very uncomfortable after a while and I might start to feel chilly after a while.

On the other hand, as I said the force of the fan also poses a huge advantage. This is because it helps me cool down quickly especially on a day when I'm coming right out of the scorching sun, and the time is very humid.

Another disadvantage I've found with using this particular fan is that it can be very noisy. I find that very strange considering I looked on the same fan on the Laskoproducts website and it claimed that it has "three quiet speeds".

Well, I've used this many times watching television, and discovered that there is absolutely no way that I can watch a programmed comfortably while using it. I always have to turn the volume up on the television very loud or put the caption on so I can actually follow what is going on because the humming is so loud. This is especially when I put it on the third speed.
While it does cool the place down very quickly, the fan does not have the ability to rotate or oscillate. That can be one of the most frustrating things, especially at times when there are several very hot people wanting to be cooled down.

It can only point directly at one person and there is absolutely no adjusting anything such as the angle. This is unless you literally pick it up and turn it in an angle that the breeze either bounces off a hard surface onto you both, or find some kind of a middle ground.

If you're looking for a fan that is sturdy, powerful and portable you might want to get the "Lasko 20 Inch Premium Box Fan Model 3723". After using it for a few months, I think that the pros outweigh the cons.
