  • When traveling to Liverpool to have the real Beatles experience you should visit the Beatles Story and have a ride on the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour bus
  • This rebuilt club (yes it is) gives the best reproduction of how it must have been when the Beatles performed here on stage
  • I've bought tickets for their game versus QPR and eventhough I didn't see the highest level of football, I would higly recommend it just for the athmosphere

Last year we traveled through the UK and one of our days we spent in Liverpool. We had a few good reasons to make a stop in this English city. For one, we are huge Beatles fans and so visiting Liverpool was like a pelgrimage for us. Besides the Beatles I attended a soccer game of one of most legendary clubs in football history and we were part of a ghost hunt in an abandoned orphanage.
  • Liverpool, home of the Beatles and the Reds
  • The Beatles Story is the world’s largest permanent exhibition purely devoted to the Beatles. It is located at Albert Dock and entrance fee costs 14.95 pond. A ticket gives you admission to The Beatles Story Exhibition, Discovery Zone, Fab 4D Cinema, The Hidden Gallery and The British Invasion exhibition. It is recommended to book tickets in advance. This exhibition was one of the highlights of our visit to Liverpool. A must do for every Beatles fan!

  • When traveling to Liverpool to have the real Beatles experience you should visit the Beatles Story and have a ride on the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour bus. This bus ride brings you to epic places like Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields and birth houses of the band members. In my experience the 17 pond tickets are too expensive for what it’s worth. Taking your picture with the Penny Lane street sign is cool but not worth that kind of money.

  • Did I say that the Beatles Story was the highlight of our visit to Liverpool? Well correct me because I’m wrong. Our visit to Cavern Club at Matthew Street was without doubt the most memorable Beatles experience we had. This rebuilt club (yes it is) gives the best reproduction of how it must have been when the Beatles performed here on stage. The Cavern is often still filled with their music and is always crowded with Beatlesfans. A not to be missed stop during your Beatles tour.

  • Liverpool has two big football clubs in the Premier League but anyone seeking for a ultimate football experience should attend a Liverpool FC home game. The Kop chanting ‘You’ll never walk alone’ is a magical event and will give you goosebumps. Tickets aren’t cheap, just like any football ticket in England. But you’ll see some of the best football in the country. I’ve bought tickets for their game versus QPR and eventhough I didn’t see the highest level of football, I would higly recommend it just for the athmosphere.

  • Liverpool, home of the Beatles and the Reds
  • The Albert Dock is often regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Liverpool. And eventhough I can believe that this actually is the most attractive place of the city, I wouldn’t plan my trip to Liverpool just for this sight.

Liverpool is great IF you are a Beatles fan or a football supporter. The city of Liverpool doesn’t present itself as a attractive citytrip if it wasn’t for these two reasons. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is seeking for a pleasant citytrip.

i really enjoyed the whole museum, it both showed a wide variety of original materials that the Beatles used, as well as provided information i never knew about the band. Would highly recommend for anyone in the Liverpool area

The Cavern Club definitely one of my favourite bars in the entire world. First impressions shocked me. Walking in the door it was completely not what I was expecting. But you must take the stairs down. Yes stairs. There are no elevators or escalators unfortunately. Arriving downstairs, you walk right into the 60 s and the Beatles are playing especially for you. Have a beer and a burger. The food is gooooood and not that expensive considering where you are. And enjoy. They have several stages with Beatles Tributes. I ve been there a few times and I ve never had a bad experience. Listen to the guys play and relive your youth or if you re a youngster appreciate good music for a change

Full Disclosure. I am a huge Beatles fan. My expectation was high and for the opportunity to walk in the steps of the Beatles I would probably have paid 100 times that. The Magical Mystery Tour was incredibly special. But it must be said that a lot depends on your guide. I was fortunate that our guide was magnificent. He was in the 30 s so no way he was actually there at the time. He told the stories so well that I thought I was alive during the time. We were listening to Beatles music the entire trip. I love that I now know where all the songs come from. Are Strawberry fields really about strawberries? Who was Julia? And what happened to her. And the stories about Penny Lane it is something even a non-beatle fan should do. I hope you get a guide as good as the one we got
