Madame Tussauds (MT) museum in Hong Kong is located on top of a hill in Hong Kong Island. Subways are only along the northern beach, so there are only public bus, peak tram and taxi to choose to reach MT.

If your hotel is in Kow Loon area, it will be a good idea to take a ferry in Salisbury Road (Kow Loon) to Central Pier (Hong Kong Island). You can also use the subway (MTR as they name it), but ferry will give you different panoramic scenery for

a cheaper transport cost (2.50 Hong Kong dollars or 40 cents). From the pier you have to take public bus #15C (4.20 Hong Kong dollars or 60 cents) to Garden Road. The first bus leaving the pier is at 10 am. MT museum starts operating also at 10 am. So far, it is fair enough.

The problem is that the admission fee to MT museum varies depending on one’s entrance time; the cheapest is the admission within 10 am to 11 am which is about 20 dollars. The bus travel time is about 15 minutes to Garden Road, but it does not stop at the front door of MT, it stops at Peak Tram Lower Terminal instead. And from there you have to stand in a very long queue to purchase the tram ticket (28 Hong Kong dollars or 4 dollars). At last I arrived in MT museum just before 11 am. It is very obvious that you must not miss the 10 am bus should you purchase the cheapest ticket of MT online.

      Alternatively, you can take ...

other public bus heading directly to Galeria Shopping Center next to MT. The ticket price is about one third of that of the peak tram, but I am afraid it will take much longer travel time. From the tourist point of view, it will be excellent to run public bus #15C earlier in the morning to give more spare time to visitors to MT.

Design of the building accommodating MT museum made me and many other visitors confuse when seeking the exit gate. There is no signpost leading to outside!

You have to climb the escalator or elevator to upper level to go out of the building.

As for the return journey, I do not advise you to take the peak tram back to Garden Road, as you will slide down while sitting backwards. For me it is very unpleasant. Instead you can walk down to the basement of the Galeria Shopping Center and take bus #15 (9.80 Hong Kong dollars or 1.40 dollars) to Pedder Street Stop where you can then take other public transport (subway or MTR) to anywhere in Hong Kong.
