Jongoro runs through downtown Seoul and is lined with shopping stalls for several blocks. Most of these stalls sell hair clips, jewelry, and jewelry cases, but you can also find DVDs, books, and shoes.

The jewelry in particular is great

      fun.

The silver is usually genuine but slightly more expensive than the wood or hemp pieces.

The jade is beautiful, but remember to check to see if it’s genuine (or just don’t pay too much for it!).

      If jade is ...

      • real, is should scratch glass when scraped upon it.

There are earrings and necklaces of every shape, size and color, so whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it.

Oftentimes you will run into stalls run by Southeast Asians

or Middle Easterners, which gives you a little more variety on the style of jewelry pieces.

I was once even able to find a necklace and earring set from South Africa; made of coconuts, wood, and natural hemp, it was absolutely a gem.
