  • I do, after all, love Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in general, and one of the many reasons I love the autumn season is because of all the pumpkin-flavored foods and drinks, so I figured a cinnamon roll with pumpkin flavoring would be quite the treat
  • I don't think the cinnamon was too overpowering and made it hard to taste the pumpkin
  • I thought these cinnamon rolls would deliver a sweet, pumpkin and cinnamon flavored dessert treat wrapped up in a soft roll
  • Almost everything about this seasonal item I liked, from the large, soft roll to the cinnamon taste and the sweet icing glaze, but the lack of a deep, real pumpkin taste disappointed me and reminded me more of just a typical Pillsbury Grand
  • Had the pumpkin flavor been far more prominent and authentic, I'm confident I would have really enjoyed these cinnamon rolls, but instead, I know now the next time I'm at the store, I'll be passing them up rather than coming back for more

Normally, when I purchase a product that has the Pillsbury name on it, I feel confident that I will enjoy it, even if it’s one that I’ve never tried before. The reason being is Pillsbury is a pretty good brand in my eyes and I expect quality because typically quality is what I get from the brand. Thus, when I saw the Pillsbury Grands! Limited Edition Cinnabon Cinnamon Pumpkin Spice Rolls advertised on television, I knew it was something I’d want to try the next time I was in a store. I do, after all, love Pillsbury cinnamon rolls in general, and one

of the many reasons I love the autumn season is because of all the pumpkin-flavored foods and drinks, so I figured a cinnamon roll with pumpkin flavoring would be quite the treat!

I was able to get it on sale for two dollars and forty-nine cents. One canned roll makes five very big cinnamon rolls. They are indeed “Grands!” in size! If only they had a grand taste, sadly. While the cinnamon rolls do give off a pleasant cinnamon and pumpkin aroma, biting into one of the glazed cinnamon rolls revealed surprisingly little pumpkin flavor. I don’t think the cinnamon was too overpowering and

made it hard to taste the pumpkin; it just seems like there wasn’t a whole lot of pumpkin taste baked into these sizable rolls. The icing, as to be expected, was more sugary than anything else, and it was hard to make out any authentic pumpkin taste amidst the sweetness.

If anything, these cinnamon rolls reminded me of the regular Pillsbury Grands! Cinnamon Rolls that are sold year round due to the flavor of them. The color of the cinnamon rolls, more than the taste, is what differentiates the seasonal Pumpkin-flavored cinnamon rolls from the year round cinnamon rolls, when really, it should ...

be the other way around. Taste should be what separates the two, not color, and just because these pumpkin cinnamon rolls have an orange tint to them and orange colored icing along with a little bit of pumpkin flavor isn’t enough to make them a memorable autumn treat. They remind me of autumn in appearance, but not so much in taste.

I expected more from the Pillsbury Grands! Limited Edition Cinnabon Cinnamon Pumpkin Spice Rolls because I have high expectations when it comes to the Pillsbury brand. I thought these cinnamon rolls would deliver a sweet, pumpkin and cinnamon flavored dessert treat wrapped

up in a soft roll. Almost everything about this seasonal item I liked, from the large, soft roll to the cinnamon taste and the sweet icing glaze, but the lack of a deep, real pumpkin taste disappointed me and reminded me more of just a typical Pillsbury Grand! cinnamon roll that I could have any old time of the year. Had the pumpkin flavor been far more prominent and authentic, I’m confident I would have really enjoyed these cinnamon rolls, but instead, I know now the next time I’m at the store, I’ll be passing them up rather than coming back for more.
