  • After all, I like fudge striped shortbread cookies to begin with, so I had a good feeling that I would like these cookies
  • Despite being a simple type of cookie, I enjoyed every bite of each one
  • I think shortbread and fudge are two things that taste good both alone and when put together, so in the case of this cookie, what the result is something mildly sweet and moderately crunchy

Who doesn’t like a cookie or two now and then? Perhaps even with nice cold glass of milk to dunk the cookies in? I’m sure there probably are some out there that would pass on either the cookies, the milk, or both, but in all likelihood, those that would pass probably aren’t reading a review about cookies to begin with. At ALDI Food Market stores, Benton’s Cookies Original Fudge Striped Shortbread Cookies can be found for the low price of just ninety-five cents. That’s right, a thirteen ounce

pack of cookies for under one dollar! That was a deal I couldn’t pass up. After all, I like fudge striped shortbread cookies to begin with, so I had a good feeling that I would like these cookies.

This is a very simple kind of cookie as it merely consists of a shortbread cookie with a fudge drizzle. That’s it. Nothing particularly fancy or elaborate. For me though, that’s absolutely fine. I knew when I was buying the package of cookies that it wasn’t anything more than shortbread and

fudge. Despite being a simple type of cookie, I enjoyed every bite of each one. I think shortbread and fudge are two things that taste good both alone and when put together, so in the case of this cookie, what the result is something mildly sweet and moderately crunchy. It’s not a hard cookie, but it’s not too soft either, and in fact, when biting into the cookie, crumbs have a tendency to break off in more than one or two places. It can be a little messy,

      yes!

The cookies were reasonably fresh-tasting, too. While packaged cookies will rarely ever taste as fresh as the ones that are made at home, as long as the cookies don’t taste noticeably stale, I’m fine with them. With these fudge striped shortbread cookies, I like to place a few in the microwave and warm them up for typically no more than fifteen seconds, so that I can enjoy them warm. The warmth seems to enhance the flavor to an extent, especially the fudge portion, which will taste a

      little richer and sweeter.

If you like fudge striped shortbread cookies, I really don’t think you can go wrong picking up a package of these for under one dollar. I don’t see that much of a difference, if any at all, between these and the Keebler brand, so for me, I’ll go with the Benton’s brand from ALDI and keep the extra money in my pocket or spend that extra money on other groceries that would have otherwise gone towards the purchase of the name brand fudge striped shortbread cookies.
