  • I think lessons like that are so important for kids to learn when they're young
  • My favorite aspect of the movie is its adult humor
  • It is interesting and entertaining to see how the lesser resolution video games will comment on the high quality graphics of the more up to date games
  • It is set the way an AA meeting would work where the characters really let their feelings out about being outcasts etc. I highly recommend this movie for the whole family

Disney pretty much nailed it with this movie in every way possible. I can safely say it does not target a specific audience but rather promotes interest in all age ranges. It is rated PG and I can understand why by I urge you not to deter young ones from seeing it because the PG type scenes are really not that bad. For instance, the worst scene is probably when a cartoon zombie grabs a heart out of a cartoon villain. It sounds absolutely awful but there is nothing scary about it once you see it and my 2 year old didn’t even think anything of it. The other reason it might be rated PG is because they use words like “stupid” and “idiot” in it.

I’ve seen G rated movies use that kind of language so I wouldn’t go by that either.

Aside from the ratings, this movie is absolutely hilarious. There are a lot of basic kid targeted scenes and even though they wouldn’t understand the adult humor, they don’t really need to because there is always something child friendly immediately following.

It teaches the principles of friendship and doing the right thing along with going after what you believe in despite what everyone tells you. I think lessons like that are so important for kids to learn when they’re young. Ralph insists on being a “good” guy even though everyone tells him he’s meant to be bad. He shows everyone that he can be good and do the right thing. The little girl in the movie, Vanellope is basically an outcast and picked on by her fellow game-mates and with sheer determination and the unwillingness to give up, she reaches her dreams in the end. It also shows that as headstrong as she is, she was willing to ask Ralph for help when she needed it. Another important life lesson.

My favorite aspect of the movie is its adult humor. It is based on many introductory video games that came out when adults were kids. It references games such as QBERT and pac man as well as Tapper. It’s absolutely hysterical how the characters are off work when the gaming day ends and they go get a beer at Tappers. Anyone who knows that ...

game from when they were young would appreciate the reference and seeing the little bartender move along the screen to serve his game-mates.

There are also a lot of references to current style video games. For example, one of the Wreck It Ralph members, Fit It Felix, falls for the tough alien fighting woman from the modern day games. He makes a remark about her “high-definition” qualities which is obviously a pick up line. Again, it would be really funny to older kids and adults but a younger child might not fully understand. It is interesting and entertaining to see how the lesser resolution video games will comment on the high quality graphics of the more up to date games.

Another very entertaining aspect is the way they incorporated

life and death scenarios into the movie. If you die in your game, you regenerate but since you can leave your game you have to be careful in the other games because if you “die in another game, you die in ‘real life.’” It really makes you relate to the characters and makes you think that feel that they truly are “people” with feelings just like us. Another instance that portrays that is that they have bad-a-thon where all the villains meet and discuss their feelings. It is set the way an AA meeting would work where the characters really let their feelings out about being outcasts etc.

I highly recommend this movie for the whole family. It was greatly appreciated by me, 30, my husband, 35, and my son, 2.

I love this movie and somehow has made you see the other “heroes”of a game or movies. The bad ones always are not recognize but then if their character don’t exist then the protagonists wouldn’t be so vindicated.
I like the moral story of the movie too,if you like or love something then work hard for it. Who knows it may just be yoirs to begin with.
