  • See that is where the fun stops because The Price Is Right is not letting you relive all your favorite moments and we are only picking our character
  • All of the loading seems to make no sense because the game does not have the best looking graphics
  • During the game you are treated to the same few themes and the same corny announcer, who I think is the guy from the television show
  • The developers went out of their way to make this game as boring as possible

This is the perfect game that takes your money and slaps you in the face. I am not kidding; The Price Is Right is not a very good game. After a five minute loading sequence you get to create your character and no you can not use Mii’s that would have just made perfect sense. What you can do is pick from eight different characters, ranging from an old woman to a token black woman with a funky hair style. Where is the college student that loves to make an ass of themselves to millions of viewers? Or how about the obsessed fan, that would cry if they own their showcase? See that is where the fun stops because The Price Is Right is not letting you relive all your favorite moments and we are only picking our character.

Once you are done the game forces you into the Three Strikes Mode. There is a Classic Mode as well, but for now lets stick with Three Strikes. In this mode you get three strikes, pretty simple right? What would you say if I told you that you had three chances to win? That’s right you can literally play this game forever in a never ending loop if you

win Contestants’ Row, Pricing Game, Showcase Showdown, and the Showcase. Loosing at the Contestant’s Row or the Showcase Showdown will give you a strike. Once you have three the game is over and you see how much money you won. Even if you loose you can go on, which defeats the whole purpose of the game. Why would they do this?

There is the Classic Mode that feels a little more like a real game of The Price Is Right. You have five chances to get to the Pricing Game, again feeling more like the television show. What the game has that the television show didn’t is extremely long loading times. In-between each section of the game you might have to wait up to 30 seconds, maybe longer, it depends if the disc has to think more. All of the loading seems to make no sense because the game does not have the best looking graphics. The crowd is literally the same person with the same different colored shirts. What the hell am I loading a Nintendo 64 game because that’s what it feels like.

The Price Is Right only has 19 games to choose from, ranging from Flip Flop to 3 Strikes. If you want to get technical

then there is only 17, the game counts the Showcase and Contestant’s Row as mini games for some stupid reason. Over half of the games have you looking at a small television screen that plays clips from The Price Is Right. This game might be the first video game that made money even before it hit shelves because it is one big advertisement. It gets better too make sure you live in the past when you are bidding on that 2007 Honda. There are a few modern vehicles and then there are some that are so old the game doesn’t even give you any information. Those must have been the companies that saw the game first; they didn’t want to advertise with this kind of crap.

You have the chance to play each of the games in a section that has a trophy. When you click on any of the games you will see two options, Play and Watch. There are challenges for each game and when you complete the challenge the game gives you a video. It sounds like the developers had fun finding the best clips from YouTube because that’s all you are getting here. The only way to actually play any of the games outside ...

of the main one is by unlocking a challenge. What is the other challenge I have to unlock when the game doesn’t tell me? I mean I really doubt the game means my Rank because that would mean the game was programmed wrong. Is that possible? Of course all of these option screens come with loads of loading time.

The Price Is Right does include a Party Game mode for up to four players. Hell must have frozen over during the production of this game because everyone has to share one Wii Mote. The Wii has been out how long now and we are using one Wii Mote? To makes matters worse each player has to enter the name, which means more loading time and lag from the game. This game never ends, you seriously will want to take it outside and bury it next to your dead gold fish because I am pretty sure your gold fish will come back to life, it will not want to be buried next to this game.

During the game you are treated to the same few themes and the same corny announcer, who I think is the guy from the television show. I could be wrong, but I really couldn’t find

it in myself to find out in the instruction manual. It seems weird though that when those advertising clips are shown the voice changes, mainly since we are getting a lower quality sound from the clips. Don’t worry Drew Carey isn’t in the show and Bob Barker is not gracing the stage with his charm. The developers went out of their way to make this game as boring as possible.

While playing the game I did run into some problems. The game tends to lag a lot. I had a few occasions where my number on the Showcase Showdown changed just as the announcer started to talk. The golf ball in Hole In One seems to have a life of its own. Not only that the announcer sometimes doesn’t get to finish what he is saying, the game will cut him off and start with the next voice clip.

There is no online play in any sorts in this game. Having this in The Price Is Right might have made the game a little better, but we are talking about the Wii over here. Just grab yourself some friends and make sure you have one Wii Mote. Now only if you could find three other people that would want to play with you.
