Harold and Kumar went to White Castle for a snack in 2004. The comedy would become one of the biggest hits in the stoner community. Four years later Harold and Kumar are heading to a whole new place and this time they won’t be eating any mini burgers at all. These two are going to Guantanamo Bay.

Harold Lee (John Cho) and Kumar Patel (Kal Penn) are planning to take a trip to Amsterdam so Harold can go after the love of his life Maria (Paula Graces). Maria doesn’t know that these two are following her and their adventure starts when airport security gives them a hard time.

When Harold and Kumar get onto the plane Kumar tries to smoke weed with Harold, who rushes back to his seat. An old woman sees Kumar holding his homemade bong and automatically thinks that he is a terrorist. Now both Harold and Kumar are in Guantanamo Bay

and there only way out is by escaping and clearing their names.

I think the plot to this movie is terrible. It has been years since 9/11 and this comedy seems to be banking off of us remembering how people assumed everyone that wasn’t white was a terrorist. That just isn’t funny, even if this movie was released a few years ago it still wouldn’t be funny. This is the sort of movie that will make you forget how funny the first movie was. Guess what I can’t watch the first Harold and Kumar movie now, this movie ruined everything.

To make matters worse the directors and writers thought it would be great to add in a fake George W. Bush. Ladies and gentlemen this has to be the worst Bush actor I have ever seen. James Adomian better stop what he is doing and kick his own ass. His part in this movie is so bad I literally had to wake myself up to finish watching the movie.

The saving grace in this movie has to be Neil Patrick Harris. Anytime he is shown on film I just want to laugh, he acts like a badass that can do anything in the world. I wasn’t laughing as much as I did in the first movie, but Harris at least made me laugh more than enough than anything else in this film.

Escape from Guantanamo Bay is supposed to be a sequel but I don’t see it. This movie seems more like the first movie with deleted scenes we didn’t see before. There are parts in this movie where it seems like they are trying so hard to put on the footage from the first movie. Certain scenes from the first movie are even recreated in this movie! All we get in here is the bottomless part, which ...

isn’t all the great because we have the Internet. Holy cow I see bush…WHO CARES!!!

The blu-ray version of the film has the best quality of sound and picture. There are not too many points in this film that shout “best blu-ray in the world”. I can’t see a real reason why you would need to buy the blu-ray version; this version doesn’t even seem to have any exclusives.

There is a commentary track that features the movies directors and writers (Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg). The two love talking about the movie they made and later on we are treated to Kal Penn and John Cho joining in on the fun. This would be a cool commentary track, however there is another commentary track with Penn and Cho. Great two tracks with the same people, thankfully we can hear James Adomian add in his input on the second track.

A behind the scenes look at

the movie is on the disc as well, featuring interviews. It isn’t all that interesting, skip this and check out the eighteen deleted scenes, all of which really don’t help too much either. Great, pointless features that don’t mean anything, right?

The best part on this disc is the Dude, Change the Movie! Feature. It is pretty much choose your own adventure. Depending on how you choose you can end the movie real fast or you can extend it. This part of the blu-ray is really neat and all, especially since they added in a lot of extra footage.

I really didn’t care for this movie and I don’t think the extras are enough to buy the blu-ray version. If you are a fan of the first Harold and Kumar movie then you need to avoid this sequel at all costs. Nothing on this disc is note worthy; buy this if you only enjoyed the movie in theaters.
