One of the most anticipated movies of the year is living to its expectations. I’ve just finished watching the powerful story about a subject often considered delicate.

And who would have thought that Matthew McConaughey, the buffed blond playboy with southern accent, will be the man to make me cry… But this guy lost 47 pounds (21 kg)
for the role of a homophobic AIDS patient and the result is purely breathtaking.

Dallas Buyers Club is a story about survival. It’s about learning to respect your time on this planet and do good. The pale homophobic electrician and rodeo cowboy Ron Woodroof (McConaughey) just can’t reconcile with the thought that he will die in days. And he chooses to fight in a battle where most people choose to give up waiting. And while fighting to stay alive and make some money from smuggling unapproved pharmaceutical drugs, he finds a meaning of his life - to help the others like him stay alive.

fight against the problems in the system. The pharmaceutical industry seems perfect for this task. Ron would even go to court to save any life he can supported by an unusual alley. Jared Leto surprised me even more like the transgender woman Rayon which helps Ron find clients for his drugs.

Rayon has her ways of having fun, knows how to be floozy but believes she has a class. She would get mad if you call her “homo”, still her heart is big and ready to love. That complex personality really won me through the movie.

I’m absolutely sure Matthew and Jared will win Academy Awards… And they deserved it. Watch their performances and let them make you cry.
