If I could describe this book in one word, it definitely it would be “extensive.” Extensive as a notion, as issues that are presented and also as a contrast between communities and races. The whole concept is a combination of multi-layered thoughts, descriptive differences in the warring races and a fascinating presentation of the nature of warfare.

The main characters are supposed to be Eric and Arla , judging by the summary given to us on the back of the book. However, in the book we find new storylines that intertwine and provide a complete picture of the world and the different perspectives. Which actually at a certain degree can confuse the reader,

because they are presented in detail, you can see how their search proceeds and the discoveries in the subject of the storyline. Thus the idea of the main characters is a bit fuzzy. Which in no case be a negative quality, but quite the opposite. So you can trace their memories to get to know the characters. As the saying goes - “a man can be recognized by his actions.” And these side storylines refine the idea of Eric and Arla.

On the other hand there are the Rhudolant Vitae. Something I really liked is that there is shown also their side of things, their point of view. It is shown how they

turned into this mechanical , logical and meticulous race, which is actually very cool and makes the whole galaxy freeze by the sight of their species. But unlike their opponents in this world , the imperialists , they are very tolerant creatures , though sometimes cruel. That is why on the other side was shown the fear of the imperialists that maybe the Vitae would destroy 4 billion people, just to be able to populate the planet. Which planet it is , you can read in the book yourself. Not to disclose information because it is an important discovery of Eric in the culmination of the story and shortly thereafter.

      The real reason ...

that grabbed me was not of the description and the conflict between the Vitae, Eric, the imperialists and Arla. The real reason that this book has become one of my favorites, is precisely the wide range of philosophical ideas and the style of the author. The author has a very good vocabulary, a very detailed imagination of the whole world, but also leave it in a mystery in exactly those areas of the book to grab the reader’s interest and urges you to read page after page with interest. The style itself is made to make it interesting to the reader to place him or her in this galaxy, to make him
understand the motives of the two warring parties / you will find out who they are once you read the book /.

The Philosophical ideas about who we are, if we do not know our past , the self-determination and the true nature of your opponent. And mostly the last pages, in which of course you can see who are the bad guys and if they are really that bad. I recommend this book to people who like philosophical fiction , people who are excited to see how all sides simultaneously in time of battle understand this war and find out why their motives are such, and not different, for people who love beautifully written books.
