  • I believe the unit is a good mid-quality television
  • I would definitely recommend this television to anyone that needs a clear, crisp, and bright picture and cant afford to spend over four hundred dollars
  • Unless your absolutely a stickler about high end units and you need the best picture money can buy you’ll be more than happy once you connect decent HDMI cables (not included) and a DVD or blue-ray player

I purchased the TV on black Friday of this year, so I’ve had it about three months now. The picture shows remarkably well for the relatively low price of the unit ($300). Insignia is the brand of the electronic store Best Buy. The unit has 3 HDMI inputs and and antenna input located on the side of the unit. A fiber op hookup which allows you to connect to a surround sound system that has fiber-op capability, comes with a remote and a small stand with a wall mount bar. There is one VGA hookup on the back of the unit, one composite connection and the resolution is 1080P at 60Hz. The included stand is just ok id say, it’s a small circular stand that’s made out of plastic and is pretty light the TV is very

light as well but the stand barely seems heavy enough to protect it from a tip over with a slight bump. Even when tightened with the screws provided I felt a little uneasy at how much the t.v. wobbled back and forth with just the slightest touch. The TV also shifts diagonally when either side is pushed up or down not sure if this is designed like this for tension purposes or not but even when tightened all the way the TV still shifts when any pressure is applied. If I were in the position to mount the TV with the included bar then I would , that seems the most stable way to display the television. The tv is very bright and the back light feature allows you to enhance the brightness of the picture even more.
Besides the average menu options color, tint, etc the TV comes with an option for IN link which allows you to turn off/on  devices connected to the TV when the TV is powered off with remote. There is also a feature that gives you options for the external sound, allowing you to either use the TV speakers or a connected device like a sound bar. keep in mind if you plan to use a sound bar that it must have another connector besides A/V because the TV’s audio out is only fiber-op or composite, or the headphone jack on the side.

I purchased the TV for movies , online gaming and streaming services like Netflix and Hulu. The TV has again performed very well so far, the picture is sharp and crisp, very bright. The volume is more than ...

good enough without external speakers unless your in need of surround sound. I did notice that after going past about 35 on the remote the volume seems to stop increasing even though the numerals displayed say the volume should be going up. I never really have reason to turn the volume up that high. I also have small children in the home that have repeatedly beat and tapped on the screen when I wasn’t looking, besides a few smudges the TV has stood up pretty well to the beatings. I believe the unit is a good mid-quality television. It would be a good purchase for the living room or bedroom. The picture is comparable with many more expensive models.

The television is black and seems to stay relatively dust free, fingerprints and smudges easily wipe off the casing as well

as the screen. The remote is very basic, nothing fancy just the volume, display or aspect , menu and channel buttons sums it up, I will say it feels sturdy and able to withstand being dropped a few times, preferably on carpet. The model is also among the energy saver line which helps save money on energy bills. I would definitely recommend this television to anyone that needs a clear, crisp, and bright picture and cant afford to spend over four hundred dollars. The set would be perfect for kids video gaming, watching movies, and internet streaming with online services or through the VGA connection. Unless your absolutely a stickler about high end units and you need the best picture money can buy you’ll be more than happy once you connect decent HDMI cables (not included) and a DVD or blue-ray player.
