“The mark of Athena” is the third book in the series by Rick Riordan about the Heroes of Olympus and perhaps the most highly anticipated title of these book series. With an initial print run of 3.5 million copies of the new novel about Percy Jackson outstrips even the last book of JK Rowling. Each book about Percy Jackson is in itself an event. After the end of the books of “Harry Potter” the book series by Rick Riordan became the most sought titles by young and old readers of the genre ” Fantasy”. There was great success of the saga, based on the eternal Greek legends and myths. “The mark of Athena” is even a greater event than

the usual for at least two reasons.

The first one can be seen on the cover, in which we see faced against each other Percy Jackson and Jason Grace. The long-awaited unification of the Greeks and Romans finally occurs, but judging by what drew the illustrator John Rocco, things did not go smoothly! The second reason is special for the more romantic people among us, fans. After months of separation, Percy Jackson and his girlfriend Annabeth will finally be together again. But is the evil destiny going to separate them again? You’ll know if you read “The Mark of Athena.”

After the victory over the giant Polibot and his army of monsters Percy, the future of the characters of Greek and

Roman ancestry seems cloudless, and as if the truce is near. But things go awry almost immediately - “Argo II” begins bombarding New Rome and seven heroes of the Great prophecy are forced to flee for their lives. So Percy, Jason and company are faced with an impossible task - before them are the monsters of Gaia that await them in the Mediterranean sea, and behind them are the eagles of camp “Jupiter ” loaded with angry Roman legionnaires instigated by the evil Octavian. But the worst threat is not coming from the new but the old, the real city of Rome. There are two giants preparing for total destruction, which will launch the end of the world, and ...

      • The Mark Of Athena Book by Rick Riordan
a sinister creature cursed thousands of years ago, is preparing its revenge, which will fall upon Annabeth…

“The mark of Athena” is a fascinating mythological adventure that resembles the legendary epic “Odyssey” and “Aeneid”, at the same time maintaining the spirit of adventure, romance and exploits created by Rick Riordan in his previous books. The book changed several perspectives in order to create a clearer picture for the readers about what happens when we understand what torment the soul of each character, including those who have no heads of narrators. Meetings with characters from Greek and Roman myths and legends are still compelling, but this time the author really appeals to ancient and forgotten myths, which brings monsters and characters

that you will not even have heard of.

“The mark of Athena” is also a darker book than its predecessors , although the sense of humor of Reardon again shines brightly. This time, the characters ask themselves whether they are right, do really gods deserve their help, what do you have to sacrifice on the road to victory. The finish is almost heartbreaking , and will leave you waiting in suspense probably not one but two years since the story is yet to unfolded. But this should not stop you from reading “The mark of Athena” - a whirlwind adventure that cemented the position of Reardon as the best author of contemporary fantasy for children and adolescents. I recommend wholeheartedly.
