  • One of his favorite aspects was the little horn button on the handle bar
  • While it sounded a bit like a steamboat (which isn’t quite the same as a pirate ship) it didn’t matter to him because he enjoyed it so much and didn’t know the difference
  • Once he was well in to his 2nd year he was able to properly scoot it around our house with no problem at all
  • I think his favorite feature of all is that seat that opens into a little storage area

My son received this ride on for his first birthday and a year later he still loves it! When he first started using it he wasn’t able to push himself around on it because he was too small and not strong enough. He has always been tall so that gives you an idea of the fact that little ones will have a harder time scooting it around. Nonetheless, he insisted on riding on it so we simple seated him on it and pushed him around the house. Something so simple brought him so much joy.

We just made sure to teach him not to try

to put his feet down while he rode on it and he would have a blast. One of his favorite aspects was the little horn button on the handle bar. We showed him how to push it and it made so many ship noises.

It made anchor noises and horn blowing noises. While it sounded a bit like a steamboat (which isn’t quite the same as a pirate ship) it didn’t matter to him because he enjoyed it so much and didn’t know the difference. Ship noises are ship noises! Once he was well in to his 2nd year he was able to properly scoot it around our house with no problem at all.

Now, being 2, he LOVES to ride it around the house. We have hardwood floors which makes it perfect for him to glide across. It is a bit difficult on the rug though, I have to admit.

It also steers very well. We have a few different ride ons and this one by far turns the easiest and sharpest which is great. Aside from the ride on features, it is also like a mini play set.

It comes with two pirates and a canon which he loves to pretend play with. I think ...

his favorite feature of all is that seat that opens into a little storage area. He puts so many toys under the seat and closes the seat up then gets on the ship and rides around the house.

It’s very funny because our remote for our TV went missing for a few days and low and behold, it wound up in his pirate ship. We know now that if something goes missing there’s a good chance it’s in his pirate ship. That may sound inconvenient for the adults but once we caught on to this trick it was actually quite humorous.

      It also has an

anchor and a little wheel that turns in the back. He also likes to put his pirate figures in the crow’s nest and has even found the crow’s nest to be quite useful as a portable cup holder!

The only downside is that the plastic sail on the front pops off relatively easily. It isn’t a huge deal as it pops right back on but my son has gotten a little frustrated when it pops off and he can’t get it back on.

A minor nuisance on an otherwise great product. You can get it from ToysRUs for 40 USD and I think it’s well worth the price.
