The Lost Boys is a classic vampire movie about a family (Mother and her two sons) who move to California to live with the mother’s father. What they later found out is that the place is a safe haven for vampires - and Michael, the oldest of the sons is turned into a vampire fledging and must be

saved from his living dead fate by his younger brother and the frog brothers.

I find the characters for this series to be really refreshing. In many vampire movies you have the same generic characters: bloodthirsty vampire, maybe one that doesn’t want to be a vampire, the female who falls for one of the vampires and the males that want to kill the vampires. I like how The Lost Boys give you all of these with a twist. For example The vampire killers are crazy enthusiastic brothers - under the age of 16 who get all their information from comic books! With them the movie has a light hearted but fierce kind of touch.

actually kind of simple in my opinion: Brother becomes fledging, kill head vampire who is trying to marry their mom, family saved. Dispute this I feel the real strength came in the format the movie was displayed. The features of the vampires are unlike the vampires of today. They have almost werewolf like faces but are very pale
and blood stained. There is nothing beautiful about these creatures. The movie often showed things in the eyes of a vampire such as flying as a bat at high speeds, flashing colors or blood frenzies.

The music is mostly rock in nature including ‘Cry Little Sister’ and ‘I Still Believe’ The soundtrack of this movie is probably the best I have come across.
