If you are a gamer like me and love to spend time with the only machine that you love you probably want to keep the inside of it as updated as possible. Nowadays there are tons and tons of GPU’s that offer not only superb performance and quality, but also a “suoerb” price. Myself, when I was building my gaming pc, really wanted to keep the budget as low as possible, but at the same time get a decent performance

out of it. And from all the GPU performance tests and battles there was always this one that was 10-20 digits from the top, and that caught my eye. That’s right, it’s the 7770 from Sapphire.

Of course it is considered a mid to high end GPU, but the performance that it offers is outstanding for the price. Let’s run throughout the “techical” details: What really makes the performance so good is that the 7770 series is based on the same GPU as the 7900 cards. The main difference is the configuration of the core which is cut down to fit the price and performance segment AMD are aiming for with this product.

The GPU itself is built on the same 28nm process, again, as the 7900 series with a configuration of 10 compute units (640 Stream Processors), 512KB of L2 Read-Write cache and 16 ROPS.

The memory that Sapphire included is 1GB of the blazing fast GDDR5 memory, which pretty much ...

makes the card work almost identical as if it was using 2GB of GDDR3.

The most noticable feature of the GPU is the really nice design that is custom made for it and includes a single large fan on top and two aluminum pipes beneath the plastic panel.

Of course technical details are nothing if the true performance isn’t good. The GPU makes a solid 40 fps on most games (720p) resolution and even in some cases can run games on

ultra and in 1080p with superb speed.

3D rendering is a dream, since I was using an Intel HD 2000 before and it took solid 3 hours for a big render ( the 7770 takes up to 25 mins for a massive render, but also combined with a powerful processor )

Overall for me this is the best GPU for the price/performance rate currently on the market, and if you are searching for a nice upgrade of your old nvidia GT9500, then this is the exact one for you!
