I don’t really have anything negative to say about the Maglite, other than maybe the price. Granted, Maglites are not the most affordable flashlights available, but for what you get, it’s worth the extra money. There are a few very good features with the Maglite that other flashlights simply don’t have. First of all, probably one of the most recognizable features of the Maglite is its adjustable beam. You can sharpen or broaden the beam of light emitted from

the flashlight simply by just twisting the front the flashlight. This definitely makes the flashlight more useful for many different purposes, enabling the Maglite to serve similar to a long range spotlight, adjustable wider similar to also a more broad-beamed floodlight.

Another great feature of the Maglite is its construction. These flashlights are made to be very water resistant and durable at the same time. With O-ring seals, a rubber push button, and a high quality aluminum construction body, it would be very difficult for water to affect a Maglite. A secondary benefit of the high quality construction is that it makes the flashlight very durable and much more shock resistant. The tight fitting parts, rubber seals, and also even the replacement of an LED instead of the traditional light bulb all greatly contribute to making the flashlight much more durable than other flashlights.

Speaking of the LED, this is also one of the great and improved features of the ...

Maglite. Instead of the original krypton or xenon incandescent bulbs Maglites used to be produced with, this model now has a very bright LED. The LED’s conserve power much better and last much longer than the traditional bulbs, saving battery life quite substantially. Also, the LED puts out a much more white light than the incandescent bulbs of cheaper, typical flashlights, overall improving the use of the flashlight.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the Maglite 2-D cell LED flashlight to

anyone. Like I said, the price isn’t the most affordable, but with all the things I mentioned early, it’s very worth it. With a trusted name like Maglite, you can be assured you’re getting a very high quality product and that it will last a very long time, possibly even a lifetime. The 2-D cell Maglite is the one I have and use because of its ideal size for almost any purpose and is available online and almost anywhere locally for about $25.

Great review, I need a new torch because my old one broke and would definitely pay the extra to get a decent one.

Yeah, you definitely can’t go wrong with the Maglite. I can’t imagine one breaking under normal circumstances, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that again… Thanks for your question and vote :)
