  • If I had to sum up Play Hard to some particular experience, I would imagine this is the type of music you hear while having a seizure
  • It makes me sick to my stomach knowing that not only do people listen to this, but they actually consider it as music
  • However if you enjoy the sound of robot voices repeating the chorus for more than half of the song, and boring music transitions, then I would recommend Play Hard to you

“Play Hard” is a song by David Guetta on his album “Nothing but the Beat 2.0″. The album is fairly new being released less than 2 months ago and already there is a billion different remixes of it because artists these days milk the general public of everything they have by rehashing the same garbage.

The intro of the song (if you can call it that) sounds like it was pulled from an 8 bit Nintendo game, albeit a bad one. The verse

is terribly bland, with a simple 4/4 bass drum beat while the terrible synth sounds follow a rudimentary chord progression. To add some “flair” there is the occasional siren blare. The intro is rehashed as the chorus because why not. The singers in the song are Neyo and Akon, but they both use autotuning so who knows which one is which. So in the end, basically what you have is 2 main parts of a song. You have the chorus part which sounds like it was inspired by Mega Man 2 music, and you have the verse part that progresses between about 4 notes. It is almost as if they made this song in a computer program that randomly selects generic sounding garbage and puts it together, then all they have to do is add words and sing in their robot voices. If I had to sum up “Play Hard” to some particular experience, I would imagine this is the type of music you ...

      hear while having a seizure.

As for the meaning behind the song “Play Hard” it is kind of difficult to pinpoint its true context because of its astute word play and grammar. What is this meaning of “Work hard, Play hard”? It is so convoluted to grasp the true meaning of these cleverly written words. It obviously must mean something important, because they repeat them a thousand times during the song. Maybe one of these days I will understand, but as for now

I can only hope to wonder.

This song is a total joke. It makes me sick to my stomach knowing that not only do people listen to this, but they actually consider it as music. It’s hard to put a rating on something like this because the scale doesn’t go in the negatives. However if you enjoy the sound of robot voices repeating the chorus for more than half of the song, and boring music transitions, then I would recommend “Play Hard” to you.
