  • Obviously Craig is an amazing vocalist and he really slays the vocals in this song, even executing the key change after the bridge very well
  • I looked around for some information because it doesn’t sound like a typical Timbaland beat, so I found out that it was produced by Jim Beanz who is a producer under the Timbaland productions umbrella
  • I’d recommend the song as a really good listen, it expands your mind and you start almost seeing the song as if reading a book

Craig David, who was once considered a protégée to Michael Jackson because of the sales of his first album “Born To Do It” really saw his career take a toll down the wrong street on his sophomore album and the ones that followed.

But in 2012, after jumping in and out of record deals, Craig David released a song titled “Snows In July”. The song was

produced by Timbaland and written by Craig David himself. David has honed his writing skills after writing for legends like Backstreets Boys among others. So the writing is really something to look for in this song.

You really have to understand that Craig is from the UK and understand the UK seasons and weather climate, because the title is almost sarcastic in the way the song is being expressed. In UK seasons, July is one of the hottest months of the year – so when Craig is referring to ‘snow’ in the month of July, he is saying it as a definite impossibility.

Lyrics of the chorus go like this: “I’ll hear our favorite song and won’t think of you, I’ll stop wondering if you’ve got someone new – when it snows ...

in July, yeah when it snows in July”.

So, that’s the catchy element of this song, once you understand the impossibility of snow in the month of July in UK, then you really understand the song and the depths of the verses. Obviously Craig is an amazing vocalist and he really slays the vocals in this song, even executing the key change after the bridge very

      well.

The production was also top notch; I looked around for some information because it doesn’t sound like a typical Timbaland beat, so I found out that it was produced by Jim Beanz who is a producer under the Timbaland productions umbrella. I’d recommend the song as a really good listen, it expands your mind and you start almost seeing the song as if reading a book.
