I think that Cypress Hill IV is one of the best rap albums in history. This album does not sound flashy. It is not an album that you fall in love with at first sight. But this is an album that is very rich and serious. It is exactly the type of music that I like.

It does not get old. The music is not very assertive, but yet is of really high quality. I felt like the band had so much confidence in themselves, they did not care to decorate the album very well. They did not need to do it because the substance

      of it was so good.

Each song on this album has something interesting about it. Looking Through the Eye of a Pig is a song with a very beautiful sound. I was amazed by this sound when I first heard it. It does not sound like a typical rap song at all.

The sound is psychedelic, there is a guitar line, there are serious beats, and the whole thing just feels like a musical creation of a genre other than rap. I like the serious ideas that are expressed in this song as well. B-Real is covering some really serious topics here. He is almost playing character, and relating a story of how complicated the life of a policeman can be.

Checkmate is a song that is very dynamic. It forms a contrast to the first track, and it has a really good drive. DJ Muggs did a great job on this song just like he did on the whole record. The beat and the arrangement overall even remind one of industrial music.

Cypress Hill are not afraid at all to experiment on this record. From the Window of My Room is another mid-tempo track that has a nice mid-tempo beat that has a rather laid back arrangement, and is ...

not very assertive, but is kind of restrained and in control. Riot Starter, on the contrary, is a song which is very dynamic and powerful. It is almost a hardcore, rapcore kind of track.

It even has some guitar sounds, which are not that prominent here though. It has a common drive with another driving track, called Nothing to Lose. On this track Sen Dog is very energetic, and he is full of force. Tequila Sunrise is a laid back song that is very easy to listen to.

It just sounds relaxing, and the rapping lines on it are very memorable. Dead Men Tell No

Tales is a rather dark, but attractive track. It sounds kind of spooky, just like another song on this record called 16 Men Till There’s No Men Left. They are mostly focused on really good beats, providing support for some really good rapping lines.

Clash Of Titans is another action track, whereas High Times is really relaxing. High Times is the only track on this record, I think, that could very easily have come from their previous album, Temples of Boom. This album is really rich in content, it is very diverse. Cypress Hill show how brave they are on this record, and also how consistent they are, and true to themselves.
