This silly little flick of a movie seems to be one of those that people either love, for whatever reason, or hate. It was filmed in 1997 when the Soviet Union no longer existed, but certain fascination

with it obviously still did; so the moviemakers invented this Eastern European country of Slovetzia, run by a dictator Boris Pochenko.

The dictator is played by Timothy Dalton, who is always worth watching, even with a stupid ...

      • fake accent.

Unfortunately, the other lead is Fran Drescher (the Nanny) whom I can barely stand.

She plays an American beautician who is mistaken for a scientist and therefore invited to Slovetzia to tutor the dictator’s children.

Well, the rest is predictable: the beautician charms the beast and changes the whole country.

Drescher’s fans will enjoy this movie the most.

If you don’t like her, you might be able to tolerate it because of Dalton.
