  • Pizza is easily one of my all time favorite foods
  • For that price, I figured it was more than worth a try, so I bought one and cooked it a few days later
  • The more processed a food is, the less natural and authentic the flavor, in my opinion, so I expected a bit more from the pepperoni on this pizza than most frozen pepperoni pizzas
  • I would have liked the pizza to be a bit saucier as I enjoyed the tomato sauce, but I felt that between the pepperoni, cheese blend and crust, the sauce was harder to make out in taste and a bit extra sauce would have helped to make this pizza a tad less dry, although I feel this is a relatively minor issue that didn't detract too much from the overall quality of the pizza
  • If you are a pepperoni pizza lover, and don't mind or better yet love a pizza with a thin, crispy crust, I recommend that you give this pizza a try

Pizza is easily one of my all time favorite foods. I generally have a couple of slices every week, so it’s one of the most common purchases I make when I’m at the grocery store. I came across the Simply Nature Uncured Pepperoni Thin & Crispy Crust Pizza for three dollars and forty-nine cents while at my local ALDI Food Market store a couple of weeks ago. For that price, I figured it was more than worth a try, so I bought one and cooked it a few days later.

When it comes to pepperoni on pizza, much like sausage, I’ve learned to not expect much, regardless of whether it comes on a frozen pizza or one from a restaurant. Unless I buy my own pepperoni from a deli in a grocery store and add it to a pizza, I really don’t expect much because the pepperoni that comes on pizzas tends to be low-quality, bland

and the result of a mixture of meats and additives that really don’t satisfy my taste buds. My hopes were admittedly a bit higher for the pepperoni on this pizza because the box said it was uncured, or in other words, not processed. The more processed a food is, the less natural and authentic the flavor, in my opinion, so I expected a bit more from the pepperoni on this pizza than most frozen pepperoni pizzas.

I was pleasantly pleased with the strong, slightly spicy, flavor of the pepperoni on this pizza! It easily stood out amidst the other flavors present, namely the tomato, Parmesan and mozzarella cheese blend. Although there were only two or three pieces of pepperoni per slice, the pepperoni was of decent size, so almost every bite was accompanied with the flavor of pepperoni. As mentioned, this pizza has not one, but two, cheese toppings that compliment each other nicely and help ...

      • to give this pizza more flavor than one might expect from one that is frozen. I would have liked the pizza to be a bit saucier as I enjoyed the tomato sauce, but I felt that between the pepperoni, cheese blend and crust, the sauce was harder to make out in taste and a bit extra sauce would have helped to make this pizza a tad less dry, although I feel this is a relatively minor issue that didn’t detract too much from the overall quality of the pizza.

I mentioned the crust briefly above, and now I’ll provide my feelings on it. I don’t have much of a preference when it comes to pizza crust. Thick or thin, I can enjoy both. This crust was pretty thin, but as long as you follow the recommended cooking time on the box and check the pizza regularly, it doesn’t burn too easily. I liked the crispy texture

of the crust, but outside of that, I don’t really have much to say about it. It didn’t have a particularly unique flavor to it that would set it apart from other frozen pizzas out there, but that doesn’t make it bad. It was basically your standard pizza crust, just on the thin side.

I enjoyed this pizza, both fresh from the oven and reheated a few days later. It has quite a lot of flavor and it’s a respectable size, basically about a medium. For the price, I feel it’s a pretty good value. As someone that really likes both pepperoni and cheese, I found this pizza to be very satisfying. If you are a pepperoni pizza lover, and don’t mind or better yet love a pizza with a thin, crispy crust, I recommend that you give this pizza a try. The quality and the price of it come together to create something that is truly mouthwatering!
