The Oster 10 speed blender 6640 was one of the most affordable blenders we were able to find when looking for a temporary blender because of a move. I have to say we have been pleasantly surprised with its effectiveness. We had another cheap blender before and it

was just not nearly as good, not even when making shakes.

The jar is made of plastic so it seems as it could break if dropped rather easy, but if you are careful then you should have no problems with it.

The one thing that is suggested is that you use it on a rougher surface or that you hold it while blending as it does not have suction cups like other blenders to stay in place.

The Oster 6640 has shown enough power to blend every type of food we have tried. Ice was not a problem,

and the blades have not shown signs of slowing down. I have also been making different creams with it.

We love that the jar is generic, because as stated earlier it does seem a bit fragile so there should be no problem replacing it. That said, since we have

taken good care of it there isn’t even a scratch on it.

All in all, for the price that we paid, we could not be happier with this little blender. It is not perfect, but for such a low price it is obvious that you get more than you paid for.
