The ASRock A55M-HVS Micro ATX Motherboard provides exceptional performance, reliability, and support. When I purchased this motherboard for my new build, there were many other Micro motherboards to choose from, but I chose this board due to its support of 100W CPU’s, and the built-in HDMI port.

Although the A55M-HVS only supports a single removable graphics card through PCI Express 2.0 x16 slot, it does allow for AMD Dual Graphics by using a APU and Video Card combination. Using an AMD 6450HD Graphics Card and the on-board APU Graphics performance available on the motherboard, I have been able to run Battlefield 2 Bad Company on mid

range specifications. To note, I was only running a Dual Core processor at 2.7Ghz which I bought for around $45.

The A55M-HVS supports Dual Core processors which is great for a small, low wattage CPU, but you will not be able to use the Quad Core CPU’s. This is only a big deal if you are wanting to build a large gaming rig, but you would not be using this motherboard for heavy gaming. Creating a media server/center for your home would be a spectacular use of this micro motherboard, or even building a small gaming rig to play games.

I love this motherboard, especially the sound

quality it provides through the on-board sound output. Boasting a 5.1 Channel sound card that provides HD quality sound, this motherboard blasts out explosions from the battlefield, or screams from jets as they slice through the sky.

Some of the specific specifications of this board include: Ethernet Network Port, 6 USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI output, Socket FM1 100 Watt Processor, Cooler Module near the CPU on the North Bridge, 2 slots for DDR3 2400+ RAM sticks, six available SATA2 connections, and APU on board built in to help provide awesome graphics rendering during gameplay.

My absolute favorite addition to this motherboard that is not provided by ...

others, is the Graphical UEFI BIOS Utility. When you boot your computer, you can use the function key to open the BIOS, then you are presented with a stunning and refreshing interface. Most motherboards will present you with a basic white text on black/blue screen that you can only navigate with the keyboard. The A55M-HVS opens the BIOS with a beautiful interface that you can navigate with the keyboard and the mouse. I was completely dumbfounded by this, and taken aback by the smooth functionality of the menus. This feature alone is enough to encourage me to recommend it to everyone. Some options, like the AXTU,
allow you to perform Overclocking Tuning, Energy Saving, and control fan speed in your tower.

All of these options and features provided from this slim Micro ATX motherboard are unbelievable yet tangible with the A55M-HVS board from ASRock. By purchasing this board, I was able to build a great high end tower that can play top-of-the line video games and stream HD video at high resolutions at an affordable price. Being able to fit this board into a smaller slimline tower was also one of the reasons I purchased this motherboard. I would happily recommend the A55M-HVS board to anyone looking to save money and still receive a quality product.
