  • There is another bar at the back of the second floor, but I’ve found that the best place to meet people is the area in front of the staircase between the ground level bar, dance floor, and hallway that leads to the bathroom
  • Overall I would recommend it for it’s crowd, no-cover, free drinks, and sexy atmosphere

LAX is one of my favorite nightclubs in Las Vegas. I’ve been there several times and I usually have an awesome time. Being a lady, I’ve been able to get in without paying a cover and sometimes they have free drinks until midnight. For guys, sometimes you can get free admission if you’re staying at the Luxor or Excalibur through their voucher booklet that you receive when you check in.

It’s pretty easy to find the entrance once you walk into the Luxor. A lot of people who aren’t staying at the Luxor head there to party as well. Sometimes its one of the few clubs that’s open on off-nights, but Fridays and Saturdays are especially crazy and lots of fun.

      When you walk in

you head down these neat iron-railed stairs. At the bottom the bar is to the left and the huge dance floor is to the right. Most of the VIP booths are on the 2nd floor balcony which wraps around the entire room. These are railed with decorative ironwork like the staircase and are divided with red curtains. Red lighting and chandeliers also add to the place’s sexy atmosphere.

There is another bar at the back of the second floor, but I’ve found that the best place to meet people is the area in front of the staircase between the ground level bar, dance floor, and hallway that leads to the bathroom. There’s a little more breathing room and elbow space there making it easier to ...

      • have a conversation. The crowd LAX attracts is pretty diverse in age and ethnicity.

LAX has a nice sound system and acoustics, and there’s usually a live DJ. Most of the music is TOP 40 hits with some mainstream dubstep. There usually isn’t much room to dance though. That leads to one of the things I don’t care for: sometimes its way too crowded. When the place is packed it’s impossible to get from one side of the dance floor to the other and it can take forever to order a drink and get it made. If it’s too jammed or if the line outside is too long I usually leave and head over to Cathouse which is also located in the

        Luxor.

Another negative aspect is that it’s one of those places where there’s nowhere to sit down unless you have a VIP booth. Sometimes I go to the bathroom just so I can sit in the stall for a minute!

I can’t comment much on its staff because you don’t really bump into them that much. The bouncer lets you in, the bartender takes your drink order, and the bathroom attendant hands you a paper towel. There’s very little interaction, which isn’t a bad thing. It means you’re not getting treated rudely.

Overall I would recommend it for it’s crowd, no-cover, free drinks, and sexy atmosphere. And it’s better if you can plan to get there early so it’s not too crazy-crowded.
