Maybe I am not the best person to say this but I really think this episode was amazing. It wasn’t very spectacular but the idea was really ingenious.

If you remember in one of the first episode of the last season the Doctor took Rose to see the destruction of the earth and now they are on the New Earth, a planet the humans inhabited and the date is 5,000,000,023.

All the sicknesses have been cured although the Doctor finds this strange because people shouldn’t have the technology for that yet.

They arrive at a hospital run by a sisterhood of humanoid cat people, the Sisters of Plenitude and they find out

that the diseases have been cured because the sisters were cloning people and make them sick and then try to cure them.

Lady Cassandra, we met her in the last season when she tried to earn money on the destruction of the Earth, enters Rose’s body and she takes Rose’s place.

An episode with zombies that want to be touched and cuddled, with cats and the nurses and Lady Cassandra, a woman that is a few thousand years old but reduced to the skin on the frame that takes over a new young and beautiful body, just has to be great.

There was this really hilarious part when the Doctor and Cassandra ...

      • in Rose’s body were trying to escape the walking zombies and they were fighting because Cassandra kept jumping from one body to another.

I really admire the imagination of the person who wrote the plot for this episode because it was really amazing.

The solution was a bit too simple, they cured the zombies with the mixture of all of the known medicine but I guess that’s was the only possibility because the zombies actually had every possible disease.

The ending was also rather moving.

Lady Cassandra remembered the last time someone told her she was beautiful and that was many years ago, in the end the doctor takes Cassandra’s assistant in

whose body Cassandra is, in the past to the party and he tells to Cassandra from the past that she is beautiful.

So the fact is that whole her life Cassandra remembered herself telling her that she was beautiful.

This was the first episode of this show that dealt with immortality and eternal life, but the Doctor proves to the humans, in this case Cassandra, that they can’t be immortal and that they have to die eventually.

It wasn’t very easy for me to get used to the new Doctor who changed his face in the last season’s final but I guess the plot was so interesting we’ve paid less attention to the way the Doctor looked.
