I got a chance to visit a Hindu temple known as Maruthamalai situated around Coimbatore located in South India. The word ‘Malai’ is a word from Tamil language meaning ‘Hill’.

So the Maruthamalai temple is a beautiful temple on top

of a hill and I felt the pleasant air when climbing the hill.

The Maruthamalai temple mainly has idol of Lord Muruga who is a popular God in Hindu religion.

There are many shops in and around Maruthamalai temple ...

      • offering sweets, fabrics and toys for children.

I bought sweets and they were good as well as cheap.

If we wish we can offer sweets and flowers to God as well.

It took me about 45 minutes to climb the Maruthamalai

hill from the land by road and if we wish to climb by steps it will take about 2 hours to reach the temple.

Overall it was a pleasant experience.

If you happen to travel to South India visit the Maruthamalai temple.
