  • I always make sure I carry a hand gel in both my baby's changing bag and in my hand bag so one is always available and up until recently I have been using a brand called Cuticura and have been very impressed, though when I saw that the Body Shop did their own version of hand sanitizer in fruity fragrances I was really tempted to try all of them but settled on this Orange fragranced one instead
  • I don't like to play at guessing games where toiletries and beauty items are concerned and as pretty as a certain packaging may be I will always be drawn to something that is transparent just so I can see the contents
  • I would recommend this if you use these types of products a lot as it cleanses the hands whilst leaving them fresh, clean and scented and is ideal to keep in your hand bag for when you are out and about
  • I am keen to try the Strawberry fragrance next as I've heard positive things about it so that's next on my list, though this Orange hand gel is one I would definitely buy and use again in the future without a doubt

I’ve been a fan of products from the Body Shop for a many number of years now and used to shop there on a regular basis as I worked in close proximity to a large store at the time. When I changed jobs about 2 years ago it was to the other side of the town I live in and found I didn’t have time to go all the way across town to peruse the aisles of the Body Shop on my lunch break like I had been able to before and subsequently ended up not shopping there very often. When I discovered they had a fantastic website I recently started placing orders of old favourites and some new items too and have fallen in love with the brand all over again.

My review here will focus on a hand cleanser gel that I purchased a few weeks ago called simply Hand Gel in Orange fragrance. I will now share my thoughts

and experiences on using this product.

I have a habit of washing my hands a lot - not to the point of being OCD but I do like to keep my hands as germ free as humanly possible and whilst this is easier to do at home it’s obviously more difficult if I’m out and about. As a mum of 3 children and a young baby I’m always cleaning my hands after some child related ritual whether this involves making meals or changing my baby I always like to know that I’ve applied some kind of gel afterwards to help rid my hands of germs. I always make sure I carry a hand gel in both my baby’s changing bag and in my hand bag so one is always available and up until recently I have been using a brand called Cuticura and have been very impressed, though when I saw that the Body Shop did their own version of hand sanitizer in fruity fragrances ...

The hand gel comes in a small clear plastic bottle which is handy (sorry no pun intended) as I can quite clearly see how much of the product is remaining once I have used it. I don’t like to play at guessing games where toiletries and beauty items are concerned and as pretty as a certain packaging may be I will always be drawn to something that is transparent just so I can see the contents.

This particular hand gel is of quite a thick consistency though on applying to my hands it becomes quite watery and melts into the skin within seconds of rubbing in.

The gel has a fresh and fruity scent to it that makes a really refreshing change from the generic sanitizer fragrances that normally accompany these types of products. The gel rubs in easy enough and leaves my hands feeling soft and whilst I

wouldn’t go as far as saying it moisturises them, it certainly doesn’t cause any dry patches or tightness like some of these products can.

I really like this gel and so far it has lasted me in excess of 4 weeks with consecutive use. It retails at £2.50 which isn’t a bad price but I normally only pay around the £1 mark for a hand gel so it is a little pricey in my view though the sumptuous orange fragrance really makes up for it.

I would recommend this if you use these types of products a lot as it cleanses the hands whilst leaving them fresh, clean and scented and is ideal to keep in your hand bag for when you are out and about. I am keen to try the Strawberry fragrance next as I’ve heard positive things about it so that’s next on my list, though this Orange hand gel is one I would definitely buy and use again in the future without a doubt.
