  • The cost for the product is about the same as Blistex at about a dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) for a tube about the same size as my Blistex tube
  • I used the product for the first time when I got into the car and for the most part I thought that it was a mediocre product
  • I think the biggest thing about the product that I did not like though was the absolutely infuriating sticky feeling that is left on my lips after I have applied the product

Vaseline products have been around as long as I can remember and for the most part I am a big fan of the majority of their products. This particular review is about Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm with SPF 8. I was in my local CVS picking up some moisturizer and came across this product in the check-out line. I was almost out of my regular brand (Blistex) and thought that it might be nice to give something else a try. The cost for the product is about the same as Blistex at about a dollar and fifty

cents ($1.50) for a tube about the same size as my Blistex tube.

I used the product for the first time when I got into the car and for the most part I thought that it was a mediocre product. I thought that the product was a little too thick to be easily applied. It seems to take a lot to get the product out of the tube and it is not a product that I can easily apply on the go. I think the biggest thing about the product that I did not like though was the absolutely infuriating sticky feeling that is left on my lips after I have applied the product. It feels like I took glue and spread it all over my lips and I am constantly licking my lips in reaction to the feeling. I finally had to take a napkin out of my purse and wipe the product off because I just could not stand the feeling anymore. I do not know if the product was supposed to do that and that maybe it was just sealing moisture into my lips but I did not like the feeling at all.

One positive thing about the Vaseline was that it did have SPF 8 in it. As I get older sun protection becomes more and more important to me and I appreciate that cosmetic companies put sun protection in their products. However, Blistex has sun protection as well and is about the same price as the Vaseline so I cannot say that the sun protection is an encouragement for continued use.

Overall, I cannot say that I would buy the product again. I much prefer my Blistex to the Vaseline product and have since passed the Vaseline tube onto a

friend who loves that particular brand over all others. I have asked her if she gets the sticky feeling and she said that she does but it does not bother her all that much. I think that it would be worth trying if you are ever in the market for such a product. Personally, I did not like the product and would not use it again, but not everyone is the same. I give the product a two because it was a good price but I did not keep using it long enough to share any real results with you.
