  • The Thai Green Curry Sauce from this range costs 89p for a 350g jar and a Red variety is also available, but in my opinion is not quite as nice as the Green
  • I love shopping at Aldi as it so much cheaper than other supermarkets and always has an interesting selection of new products in addition to everyday staples
  • I think this product is excellent, both in terms of taste and value for money
  • My husband used to be a chef so knows a lot about food, especially Asian dishes and he is equally impressed with this sauce

Asia Specialties is a range of ethnic food products available at UK branches of the discount supermarket Aldi. The Thai Green Curry Sauce from this range costs 89p for a 350g jar and a Red variety is also available, but in my opinion is not quite as nice as the Green.

I love shopping at Aldi as it so much cheaper than other supermarkets and always has an interesting selection of new products in addition to everyday staples. This makes it easy

and affordable to experiment with new dishes and ingredients.

I think this product is excellent, both in terms of taste and value for money. It is also extremely easy to use and very versatile. I have used it in a number of ways, including to make a traditional curry by adding the sauce to cooked chicken and also to make a risotto.

When making a curry I have found that one jar is sufficient for around 400g of diced chicken breast and ...

      • with rice this serves four people. It is easy enough to make more if you are serving a large family or just have large appetites! Simply double the amount of chicken and use two jars of sauce instead of one. You could also bulk out the recipe by adding additional ingredients to the sauce, such as seasonal vegetables.

The flavour of the sauce is just right, being both creamy and spicy, with neither taste proving dominant so it is very well balanced.

Flecks of chilli are visible in the sauce which also includes vegetables in decent sized pieces, particularly green beans. This means that it is fine to serve alone without the addition of extra ingredients. However, it also works well with added fruits and vegetables, pineapple proving a surprising hit with chicken, served in wraps for a change.

My husband used to be a chef so knows a lot about food, especially Asian dishes and he is equally impressed with this sauce.

I am an avid ALDI shopper but this green curry paste from Asia Specialties is the WORST I have ever had, NOWHERE NEAR authentic
