  • I thought that using a grown-up Michelle to tell her aunt’s story was a great idea that made the book standout
  • I found myself drawn to the characters more and more
  • I was a little disappointed that the writer made Susannah so easy about letting a stranger in her apartment and near her niece but since it is just a story I think most young women realize that this is never a good idea
  • I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to purchasing it in the future

I actually borrowed this book from my local library and ended up enjoying it very much. This story is about a young woman (Susannah) whose main goal for her life is to work her way up the corporate ladder. She has no desire for marriage or kids and feels that the typical “mommy” lifestyle would only get in the way of her career. All this starts to change when she is asked to babysit her infant

niece Michelle (who interestingly enough is actually the one telling her aunt’s story as an adult). Susannah is hesitant and wants to say no but ends up agreeing to it. She is nervous around her niece and things get worse when all the baby does is cry. At some point her mysterious neighbor Nate Townsend appears at the door and offers to help her with her niece. Through the book these two go back and forth on ...

      • the ideas of love, marriage, children and careers and they discover that with the right person and the right balance one can truly have everything.

I liked that the plot was not straightforward easily guessed. There were many different sub plots with each character that further develops them and really brings them to life. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to purchasing it in the future. I give this book a ten of ten (ten out of ten).
