  • Dr Hauscka has recently reformulated one of my very favourite body products, Lemon Body Oil, to include Lemongrass
  • At first I was mildly irritated (if it ain't broke don't fix it and all that) but after using the new formulation for a couple of weeks I'm impressed enough to purchase again
  • Within five minutes of applying the oil you can forget about it, apart from a dusty (almost velvet-like) feel on my skin - I love the texture this gives to my skin as although it could never be classed as 'natural' feeling, my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth
  • I really like the effects, but am not sure if I'll buy again as I can get similar results from other oils - I know this has been a positive review, but the cost for me is prohibitive as at most you'll only get 6 weeks daily use from the body oil

Dr Hauscka has recently reformulated one of my very favourite body products, Lemon Body Oil, to include Lemongrass. At first I was mildly irritated (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and all that) but after using the new formulation for a couple of weeks I’m impressed enough to purchase again.

It comes in a small 75ml spray bottle, to apply you can either spray directly to the skin on your body or into your hand. Whichever method you choose the oil will need to be rubbed into your skin,

I personally prefer to spray it onto my body and rub it in from there. The oil sprays out in a fine mist so despite the small size of the bottle, it’ll last for longer than you think.

The smell is gorgeous. It has a strong zesty lemon fragrance which I find incredibly refreshing; it’s toned down slightly with a subtle floral tone, although this only comes through in a very minor capacity and just works to tone down the lemon a little.

The oil tightens my skin and leaves it extremely soft and moisturised.  The fragrance doesn’t linger as long as I’d like considering the strength of the lemon, although this is a good thing in a way as the zestiness means it would clash with my perfume if it hung around for too long. I’m more than happy with the effects on my skin though, one of the claims Dr Hauschka make regarding this product is that it can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite - and it’s true!  Used at the top of my thighs leaves ...

my skin looking visibly smoother, the extra moisturisation helps but the oil also provides a surprisingly toning effect that tightens my skin to at least give the appearance of less cellulite!

The Lemon and Lemongrass Body Oil doesn’t feel particularly greasy; obviously as it’s an oil it has a level of slickness, but as you rub it into your skin the oil absorbs very quickly. Within five minutes of applying the oil you can forget about it, apart from a dusty (almost velvet-like) feel on my skin - I love the

texture this gives to my skin as although it could never be classed as ‘natural’ feeling, my skin feels amazingly soft and smooth.

$29 for 75ml of scented oil is very expensive, it’s a good product but not a miracle worker. I really like the effects, but am not sure if I’ll buy again as I can get similar results from other oils - I know this has been a positive review, but the cost for me is prohibitive as at most you’ll only get 6 weeks daily use from the body oil.
