  • I know that a lot of people shy away from using a ton of conditioner because they are afraid that it will weigh their hair down or make it super greasy
  • I highly recommend this Back to Basics Raspberry Almond Reparative Conditioner because it is the best alternative I have ever found to the Aussie one

  • There are some things I wish I could change about this conditioner (including a larger opening on the top to allow for the thicker consistency to flow through a little more easily and the fact that this contains so many ingredients that I have never heard of), but in general, I have been pretty impressed with the way this conditioner works

I recently purchased the Back to Basics Raspberry Almond Reparative Conditioner. As a disclaimer, I first need to explain that I am a huge conditioner girl. I know that a lot of people shy away from using a ton of conditioner because they are afraid that it will weigh their hair down or make it super greasy. A lot of people also only put conditioner on the ends of their hair and never apply it to the roots. I break both of these rules both by putting conditioner everywhere from root to tip as well as using way more than just a dime sized amount. That being said, I go through conditioner like water. I have used conditioners from Aussie, Pantene, Herbal Essences, and pretty much every other brand you could think of. Thus far, my

favorite conditioner is the Aussie 5 minute miracle. If you have ever used that, you will understand some of the comparisons I make in this review. I highly recommend this Back to Basics Raspberry Almond Reparative Conditioner because it is the best alternative I have ever found to the Aussie one. I love this product. It detangles my hair. It helps to control frizz. It is super hydrating. Those are all of the things I love in a conditioner.

To start with, this conditioner has an amazing scent. It is super fruity. The only thing I don’t like is that the scent has no staying power at all. Once I get out of the shower, I can barely smell it anymore and after blow drying my hair, it disappears completely. This is a very thick, rich,

      • creamy conditioner which I like, but the only problem I find is that it’s actually kind of hard to squeeze it through the top of the bottle. I like how well this detangles my hair. I can comb through it with my hands after applying this conditioner with minimal hair loss. This conditioner is easy to use (though most conditioners are). I just leave it in my hair for a few minutes and rinse it out. There is no weird residue left behind. It rinses out completely and instantly makes my hair feel soft. Even though I use more conditioner than I should, this does not make my hair limp or greasy or flat. I still can get volume after styling my dry hair.

The only thing that really bothers me about this product is the

ingredients list. It is honestly kind of scary, in my opinion. I prefer more natural/organic products with very few ingredients. This one has tons!

The price is very reasonable. An 11 ounce container was about 12 dollars so this is a bit more expensive than Aussie or Herbal Essence or other drugstore brands but still very affordable. Overall, I have to give the Back to Basics Raspberry Almond Reparative Conditioner a rating of an 8 out of 10. There are some things I wish I could change about this conditioner (including a larger opening on the top to allow for the thicker consistency to flow through a little more easily and the fact that this contains so many ingredients that I have never heard of), but in general, I have been pretty impressed with the way this conditioner works.
