The Nook Color is a tablet device that offers ebooks as well as apps and web browsing. It is currently $169 at Barnes and Noble

I personally own the Nook Color and the Kindle Fire. The Nook Color is definitely the lesser of the two. Both offer a 7 inch display and similar features, but the Nook Color has a sluggish touch screen display and less features.

First, the positive side of the Nook Color.

It offers a nice looking display that is good for games and picture books. It is a thin and lightweight device that is very portable and good on the go. Books are easy to purchase on the device and there is a good selection to choose from. It has the option to use a SD card for expandable storage. I found this good for storing music on.

Now, the bad part. The Nook Color ...

      • has a very sluggish touch screen. It sometimes takes me three or four taps for it to recognize that I have actually touched the screen. The internet is just as low and sluggish as the touch screen. Compared to my Kindle Fire, it takes twice as long to load each web page. In addition, there is a very limited number of apps available for purchase. Even though they recently expanded the app store,
there is still a severally limited chose. Finally, the reading experience is not good. The screen does look good, but it is bright so it is hard for me to see.

Overall, it is a very mediocre tablet. I rarely ever use it now that I have the Kindle. If you are looking for something like this, spend the extra $30 and get a Kindle Fire. Otherwise, you will more than likely be disappointed.

It is more expensive and it is not worth it

I would agree. It’s a very sluggish device with very limited features. The Kindle products are much more user friendly and a better deal for your money. Thank you for reading
