This farmer’s market is unique among it’s kind– they run an indoor swap meet the 5 days the are open, and they building an artisan mall in the smaller of the two buildings. Their prices on bulk supplies and produce are in general 40% less than the surrounding grocery stores. Angela or her executive assistant are generally available to talk to customers and fulfill their need.

They also a discount on meet and will order cases of food– primarily apples for canning. They make it a point to get to know their customers, and Angela in particular keeps track of requests and tries hard to fill those requests.

The Market is cleaner than many grocery staores we have been in,and the produce is of the highest quality. Angela will be planting her own organic heirloom seeds very shortly so her customers will get the cleanest and healthiest

      foods available.

They are also planning a petting zoo near the koi pond they already have. The koi pond has a full sized dream catcher woven over the water to keep out the blue herons at this time– the temporary dream catcher will be replaced with one built to Guinness book of world records– it is already sever hundred times the size of the current dream catcher.

Guinness just informed Angela as to what she has to do to beat the record. The indoor swapmeet brings in quite a few shoppers (the parking lot was over half full when the secret shopper went through.

The bathroom for customers is clean and decorated lightly with flowers and a custom designed sink/ wash area to allow the customers to place bags on a shelf out of the floe of the water. The produce is of the highest quality– Angela hand picks her ...

      • produce and meats personally and keep as low an inventory as possible to cut down on waste.

The market has a decent sized regular clientele to sustain it during the winter, and a lot of tourists during the summer months. If all their plans stay on schedule, Angel and her assistant will begin plating above ground in raised using the square foot planting method to insure the produce meet the standard for organic produce as well as using primarily heirloom seed and organic seed.

They have a barter board, maps of the area and brochures from the area for the customers, as well as firewood. Angela hopes to be producing at least one half the produced on the farm as before the mid summer.

She will also be breeding rabbits for sale as pets, for her dinner table, and for the fur They also considering having a

jumping castle or other attractions for the kids during the summer, an having local bands. Angela’s is also systematically joining every chamber of commerce in a 12 mile radius to include bellinghsm because their philosophy includes always buying and supporting local business and people as much as possible I really like the tip jar– last month was saving the old Blaine railroad station , this month is Blaine Food Bank, then Birch Bay local pantry for the homeless , under employed or unemployed.

The month after they will be collecting for the alternative on some other organization– and the coolest part is getting a dollar of the medium or large bag of their fresh kettle korn. Angel’s also donates regularly and anonymously to a variety of good causes in the local area.
