  • I paid $3.99CDN plus tax for a 384ml bottle of shampoo that lasts about three weeks
  • The front of the Garnier Fructis bottle of shampoo said this shampoo contained Acai Berry and Grape Seed Oil which I thought would be an absolute blessing for my drying hair
  • The rest of the bottle is berry colored and I think they probably designed it that way The first time I opened this bottle of shampoo I was hit by a wonderful berry scent in my nostrils
  • In fact after about two weeks of using it continuously, I notice it is much shiner and brighter
  • I would recommend Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo for color treated hair any day of the week

Sometimes when I am shopping my mind wanders; and this time at the grocery store I accidentally purchased the wrong shampoo. I usually buy shampoo specifically designed for curly hair, the most expensive I can currently afford. This time I managed in my haste to buy Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo for color treated hair.

In the store I had fully intended to buy a shampoo from the Garnier line of hair care products. I paid $3.99CDN plus tax for a 384ml bottle of shampoo that lasts about three weeks; certainly good value for money, I just bought the wrong one.

When I got home and realized my error, I was too tired to walk back to the store and decided it probably wouldn’t hurt my non-color

treated hair if I actually used this shampoo. While this Garnier shampoo is designed to stop color treated hair from fading; what fascinated me was the Fructis color shield this shampoo comes equipped with.

The color shield actually contains both a UVA/UVB shield for your hair. Despite the fact that I am in the middle of a rather cold Canadian winter, I figured a color shield for my hair couldn’t be a bad thing. The front of the Garnier Fructis bottle of shampoo said this shampoo contained Acai Berry and Grape Seed Oil which I thought would be an absolute blessing for my drying hair.

Esthtetically this bottle of shampoo is quite attractive; there is the standard green pop top, the green sticker on the front ...

      • with the words Garnier Fructis in big white lettering and a pink colored circle about teh size of a quarter with white lettering spelling Color Shield in the middle of the bottle. Your probably wondering how I missed this in the grocery store! The rest of the bottle is berry colored and I think they probably designed it that way

The first time I opened this bottle of shampoo I was hit by a wonderful berry scent in my nostrils. I didn’t find the smell harsh or abrasive although it did get a little stronger when I shampooed. The shampoo itself was a bit of a shock; it looked like the color of strawberries mashed with cream. The consistency felt very thick in my

hands, almost like that of a conditioner. That said, it didn’t feel greasy or heavy and I was intrigued.

This is an absolutely fabulous shampoo! It doesn’t strip my hair of essential oils, it doesn’t produce a great many soap suds so it is low on chemicals, and it makes my hair really soft and manageable. In fact after about two weeks of using it continuously, I notice it is much shiner and brighter. My Cosmetician tells me the brightness is due to the UVA/UVB shield in the shampoo that stops my natural colored hair from fading.

I would recommend Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo for color treated hair any day of the week. The color shield is fantastic, and this shampoo really works. For more information visit www.garnier.ca
