  • I think this is probably more formulated for girls with very fine, flat hair who actually do wash their hair every single day and who are unable to get second day hair because they are constantly washing
  • If I want to do something other than just have super straight, sleek hair, I like using this because it helps set whatever style I want
  • If I want to correct that problem without teasing my hair (because teasing can damage the hair), I can just add this powder to my roots, tousle my hair a little bit, and get instant volume
  • This product definitely outlasts a lot of other volumizing products that I have tried in the past and also lasts longer than just teasing with a comb or brush

I recently purchased the Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder. It was about twelve dollars on Amazon. I had seen it in a local beauty store for about double that price but I was not willing to spend that much on this. The funny thing about this product is that it is actually supposed to give clean hair that “second day hair” feel to it. I think this is probably more formulated for girls with very fine, flat hair who actually do wash their hair every single day and who are unable to get second day hair because they are constantly washing. Personally, I wash my hair just twice each week so I already have the opportunity to get second or even third day hair without

a product. That said, I do like this powder because it really does help me with styling. It kind of gives me the same sort of hold that a hairspray would without the crunchy hairspray feeling. If I want to do something other than just have super straight, sleek hair, I like using this because it helps set whatever style I want.

Even though this powder does make my hair feel like second day hair, it does not make it look greasy or dirty at all. I like that it gives me the texture of hair with a bit more oil in it but not the dirty look to it. I guess that’s why this is called a mattifying powder. The only thing that I do ...

      • not like about this product is that it does leave this sort of powdery residue on the hair. You can’t really see it, but I can feel it when I run my fingers through my hair. It bothers me enough that I would never put this product in my hair and then go a few days without washing. I just have to wash it out of my hair at the end of whatever day I apply it.

Another reason that I like this powder so much is that it helps me add volume to my hair. Sometimes I go overboard with products that weigh my hair down and make it flat. If I want to correct that problem without teasing my hair (because teasing can damage the

hair), I can just add this powder to my roots, tousle my hair a little bit, and get instant volume. This has been working well for my coarse, thick hair but I honestly can’t say whether it would do the same to add as much volume to someone with finer hair. Another thing that I like is that the volume that this product gives my hair actually lasts all day. My hair isn’t flat within a few hours. This product definitely outlasts a lot of other volumizing products that I have tried in the past and also lasts longer than just teasing with a comb or brush. Overall, I have to give the Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder a rating of an 8 out of 10.
