Every Sunday I have to be front and center at eight o’ clock on ABC. Why? Because the television series Once Upon A Time airs during that time.

I think I was like everyone else who loved the promo for the new series, but was not sure how to feel about it since it is based on fairy tales and the life of the show was in question. When the show first aired I was upset because I missed the first ten or fifteen minutes of it which sort of threw me off and I ended up having to play catch up. However, when the show did a marathon I was able to watch the first episode in its entirety and I finally understood the conflict between Snow White

      and The Evil Queen.

The plot of the show is about The Evil Queen from the Snow White fairy tale, and she creates a powerful curse that sends all the fairy tale characters to another dimension where time seems to stand still. Because something happened between Snow White and The Evil Queen which causes the Queen to lose her only shot at happiness—which is revealed as the season progresses—and it appears to be the source behind the curse.

Although the Queen thinks she is the only one who can break the curse, she does not know about the child Snow White sent to the dimension who will be the key to breaking the spell.

In present day (the curse to the fairy tale characters), a young boy runs away from home to ...

      • find his birth mother, Emma, who is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Emma is surprised to see her son, Henry, because she gave him up for adoption years ago. He tells her she is the key to breaking the spell and must return back home with him to Story Brooke. Emma decides to personally return Henry home to his mother, the Mayor, who is revealed to be The Evil Queen and the only one with memory of the past. The Mayor immediately takes a disliking to Emma who gives her reason to stay in Story Brooke for a short period, but ends up living there and sharing an apartment with her mother—unbeknownst to her—Snow White. The show picks up the pace after that and has not
        slowed down since.

By far this has been one of the best television series I have watched in a long time. It consists of interesting and strong storylines each week, and I love how the writers give you a different take on the fairy tale stories we have become accustomed to growing up with. The stories all have a different twist on them which makes them so intoxicating to watch every week. I love the cast because I think there is such a strong chemistry among them which is why the show is so believable. The show is an amazing fantasy to watch and I like how the theme of living happily ever after is at the core which people want to believe in no matter how young or old they are.
