Ko Chang, Thailand

Weeks before Christmas, forced to flee the cold, terrible weather of a wintery Korea, I hopped a flight to Thailand. After a long cab ride, an even longer bus ride, a bumpy ride in the back of a pick-up truck, the slowest ferry I’ve ever been on, and a long

winding ride through the hills of the mountainous jungle on the back of a flat-bed truck, I arrived at Lonely Beach.

Don’t be dismayed, lonely it certainly is not.

Surrounding our beautiful bungalow was the Thai jungle, gently swaying in the light breeze.

The warm air hit the spot as ...

      • we walked across the grassy patio to the bar, where we ordered the most delicious Thai noodles.

A night walk along the beach, the horizon of which twinkled with brightly colorful stars, brought us to a TreeTop bar.

The bar was an open pavilion, aired by the breeze off the

ocean, with pillows and pillowed chairs to rest upon.

The folky, acuistic music floated over to us, relaxing away any worries or stress from real life.

A simple day, but it was followed by seven more perfect days.

The food, the music, the people, it all came together for a most wonderful vacation.
