Robert Crais’s award winning novel ‘The Last Detective’ narrates a story never which one of its kind with nothing even coming close to such a well thought setting. Crais is at his best as he narrates the experiences of private investigator Elvis Cole.

Cole is looking after his girlfriend’s son Ben Chenier when the boy is snatched from outside

      his house in Los Angeles.

Cole cares deeply for the boy and is shocked when he finds the breed the kidnappers belong to.

He slowly realizes his dark past creeping on to him.

But, is it just this or something else? Cole is sure that it has nothing to do with him but how is he to prove it?

      • To make things worse, his girlfriend’s husband turns up and adds oil to the fire.

The plot turns out to be a totally unexpected one as Crais keeps continually adding suspense to the already high-pitched story.

In the midst of all this, Cole has his trusted friend, ex-Marine Joe Pike to help him out of this mess.

        They take

responsibility into their own hands and realize that if someone’s gonna get Ben back, it’s gotta be them.

It is an action packed novel which keeps you hooked to every single movement made.

I was extremely delighted with the ending since it was one which i desired.

Oops, i shouldn’t be telling so many things, right? Read the book to find out more
