As a work-at-home mom, I find the biggest challenge is how to keep my baby entertained long enough write and get some household chores done. I used a bouncy seat for him when he was a newborn but he is too big for one now. I decided to make a trip to Wal-Mart to see what I could find to keep his attention for a little while so I can work. Like most babies, he wants a lot of attention and cries if I put him down. I

have tried putting him in my lap while I work but that is impossible because then he tries to grab the mouse and poke the keyboard or pound on the edge of the desk. After some comparison-shopping, I purchased the Bright Starts Bounce-About Baby Activity Center and hoped this would solve my problem.

Eight toys on the main surface are within easy reach. The overhead toy bar encourages reaching and grabbing; there is also room to add your own hanging toys to the bar. Seat spins 360 degrees

so he can watch me doing dishes. The toys on the top are: Frog spinner Top, Spinning Bee Rattle, Ball Ratcheting Bug with soft fabric wings and overhead bar includes two teething toys. There are three height settings to move it up or down. It says it folds flat for easy storage but I have never taken it down. The seat pad is machine washable (thank goodness because he is messy) and surfaces are easy to clean with a damp cloth.

The manufacturer recommendations for this toy are ...

      • Bright Starts Bounce-About Baby Activity Center
for babies 4 months and older up to 25 lbs. Despite this recommendation, this toy is sturdy enough for heavier babies.

My son, who is now 10 months old, got this toy when he turned 4 months old. He loves and plays in it every day. His favorites are the frog spinner and spinning ball. The product is very sturdy and will not tip over no matter how much he bounces on the footpad. The recommendation is for babies up to 25 lbs. but it is actually strong

enough for heavier babies. My son weighs 25 lbs. and his 2-year-old cousin plays in it when she comes over and she is heavier than he is.

I love my Bright Starts Bounce-About Baby Activity Center and definitely recommend it to other moms who may be looking for a safe, enjoyable toy to entertain their babies. My son loves it and spends a lot of time in it. So much so that he has worn the wings off the ratchet bug trying to use it as a teething ring.
