  • I definitely like getting two different shades in one compact, so that is also a plus
  • The design of this product is pretty interesting in that it has this airtight lid within the compact that I guess is supposed to function as a way to keep the cream shadow from drying out and becoming useless
  • Unfortunately, I don’t feel like the airtight lid is really doing much of anything
  • If you can accept the fact that this is, at best, two pretty shades of eye shadow – I suggest purchasing this
  • If you are expecting this to actually function as a dual product, you will probably just as disappointed as I was when I discovered just how poorly this product looks when used as an eye liner

I have not tried very many Mark products in the past, but my sister recently bought me the Mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Eyeshadow. She knows how obsessed I am with products with dual functions so she picked this up for me. Basically, as the name suggests, this product is both an eyeliner and an eye shadow. It comes in the form of a cream. Each compact of product is divided into two sides, each containing a different shade. I own the “Exposure” compact which comes with a gold, champagne color on one side and a rich chocolate brown on the other side. Both shades are absolutely beautiful, especially when paired together.

My first impression of this product was that the colors are incredibly gorgeous. Not only that, but they also swatch very well. The pigmentation is impressive. I do not have to layer the product on to get the color to show

vibrantly. I definitely like getting two different shades in one compact, so that is also a plus. Here’s where I have to get brutally honest though. Even though this product claims to do two things, it really only does one of them well. As an eye shadow, this product is awesome. As previously mentioned, it is well pigmented (with or without using a primer). The staying power is good. The shadows don’t crease once on my eyes, even though I have a tendency toward oily eyelids. All in all, these are fantastic eye shadows. However, in my honest opinion this product is not good as an eye liner. It was very difficult to apply. I had to try very hard to get a solid line. Plus, this product just dries in a way that is weird for a liner. It’s hard to describe but I guess I would say that it sort of flakes ...

      • away over time. It doesn’t just create a solid, flat pigmented line.

The design of this product is pretty interesting in that it has this airtight lid within the compact that I guess is supposed to function as a way to keep the cream shadow from drying out and becoming useless. It is a good idea, in theory. Unfortunately, I don’t feel like the airtight lid is really doing much of anything. The product already feels like it is drying out and I have only owned it for maybe three weeks at most. I will probably have to throw it out soon or else add a few drops of water to get it to truly feel like a cream again.

The product only retails for ten dollars which is not bad since you get two shades of eye shadow in one compact. However, I will probably not purchase this product again for myself despite the

fact that it is reasonably priced. Though I am glad that my sister got it for me, I really did want something that would be both a shadow and a liner and this is not it. Also, it does not come with that much product. It is only 0.04 ounces. Overall, I have to give the Mark Keep it Going Longwear Eyeliner & Eyeshadow a rating of a 6 out of 10. If you can accept the fact that this is, at best, two pretty shades of eye shadow – I suggest purchasing this. If you are expecting this to actually function as a dual product, you will probably just as disappointed as I was when I discovered just how poorly this product looks when used as an eye liner. I am eager to try more products from the Mark line in the future, but this particular one will not be a repurchase of mine.
