  • Although the restaurant clearly caters to a beer-drinking crowd, they do a fine job at serving up delicious dishes that suit the atmosphere
  • The fish and chips are one of the best dishes in town, and they have my favorite sauce that goes with it
  • Aside from lacking in the service department, I think the Distillery is well worth recommending
  • It's a great place for beer fans, and its definitely large enough to accommodate groups and parties

The Distillery is the ideal place for drinks and pub fare in Savannah. They offer more craft beers than anyone else in town, and they refuse to serve any big brand name beers. I also love that they constantly change their draft beer list. I went in on a Wednesday, and by next Monday, the beer selection was totally different.

This place also serves perfect pub food. Although the restaurant clearly caters to a beer-drinking crowd, they

do a fine job at serving up delicious dishes that suit the atmosphere. The fish and chips are one of the best dishes in town, and they have my favorite sauce that goes with it. It’s an orangey sort of tartar sauce that is sweet, tangy and perfect for dipping anything. I also love that their fish is served in “fingers” so to speak. I’m not a fan of a huge piece of fish battered and ...

      • fried because the fish often overpowers the unique batter. By using smaller pieces of fish, every bite is full of both fish and batter flavor - and the batter is very tasty!

I will admit that the prices are a bit high, but some of that is due to its location downtown. Most restaurants in the historic district are pricey. Another problem I’ve had is the service. The one hostess will pretty much ignore you unless you

demand her attention. Even then, she can be unfriendly and unaccommodating. The wait staff is a bit slow, but most times I go it’s busy, so they may be understaffed. They are all relatively friendly if you count out the hostess.

Aside from lacking in the service department, I think the Distillery is well worth recommending. It’s a great place for beer fans, and its definitely large enough to accommodate groups and parties. This is definitely a place worth trying!
