I was a commercial driver for many years, and stopped at the Flying J truck stops more times than I can remember now. I continue to receive a quarterly truckers publication which features information and updates on the Flying J facilities across the U. S.
& Canada.
The restaurants are at
least as good as you’ll find elsewhere, and better than many. You may be particularly interested in their buffets, something only a small minority of restaurants offer.
Their stores offer quite a variety of items which pertain to travel.
This may seem petty, but I actually appreciated that, at their coffee/tea facilities, they offer cartons of fresh milk to go along with it.
I can only think of one potential drawback for the casual traveler at Flying J - this would be the line of truckers at the cashier at certain times (this has to do with the fuel payment ...
