With all of the X-Men films that have been produced for mutant lovers everywhere, another movie revolving around these super human characters caught me as a little of overkill. However, I was proved very wrong after having seen the 2009 X-Men film, “X-Men Origins: Wolverine’. Not only was this film a great addition to the X-Men films, but a great in depth look to the softer and more emotional side of Wolverine.

In this film viewers get to see the beginning life of James Logan (Wolverine). How he

has his powers and about his brother that many X-Men lovers might not know of. We see how being invincible and not being able to really get hurt gets to his brother and the two of them part ways. Logan meets a girl who he really loves, Kayla, but the life he had was interrupted by special forces recruiting mutants to create a super mutant. They trick Logan into helping them and into thinking his girlfriend was killed by his brother. We see the emotion in Logan ...

      • that is caused by losing a love. The anger at being used and toyed with, and that love returned upon finding out Kayla was never dead at all.

Aside from getting a first look at Wolverines life before journeying to the X-Men and having iron in his body, viewers meet new X-Men and see the creation of Dead Pool. This film really had everything, romance, action, suspense, drama and tragedy. It has also made me a believer that I don’t think there can be enough X-Men films. Showing

the history of the X-Men we have grown to love. It feels natural that X-Men fans would be drawn to movies that tell them more about the characters of the past.

If you are a fan of X-Men, Wolverine, or just Hugh Jackman I would recommend this film. The movie was in many ways genius, and something that I would watch again without hesitation. Now, the only thing that X-Men lovers can hope for is that another Origins film will be come out portraying the history of another favorite X-Men character.
