Believe it or not there are still some places in the united states that do not have basic cable. Of course the large networks broadast over airwaves so I can get five channels with an antenna.

      My only option for decent

programming was to use a satellite service.

I tried DircTV for about a year.

Every month they promised they would add local programming.

      They never did.

They also constantly “updated” their software so that the programming interface was different every so ...

      • often.

        That was very irritating.

        I switched to Dish Network.

There was no noticeable difference in picture quality or programming.

With the exeption of local channels there was very little change at all.

The quality of the support and service that

Dish provided was of better quality that DirecTV had provided.

Most queations I had were answered by the Dish information channel.

Since the cost of the services are nearly identical and the programming is almost the same, service was the only deciding factor for me.
