One of the latest scent from Chopard is Noble Cedar. It was just released this year. The flacon is similar to Noble Vetiver albeit the color was silver and it has a yellowish hue for the liquid compared to Vetiver. Both Vetiver and Cedar were outstanding in term of its flacon and the overall appearance. It echoes that minimalist but luxurious imagination. This is one of the scents that I tried this year. I have yet to try Chopard scents since I have not been patronizing the product ever since. This perfume is available in Eau De Toilette compositions but the largest bottle was only for 80 ml. Sizes of 30 and 50 ml were also available.

The scent was also minimal in terms of notes

and the nuances therein. The top note was only birch. It smelled woody but likewise grassy. The smell during the start was not chaotic as I suppose it was when I was going through the notes before I had my first spray. It was subtle but uneven because at first it smells like soft grass but later on it was more woody. The introduction was mild even for a woody smell. It was like quite charming but it sets the masculine flavor immediately. The middle note was sage. During the segue, the scent again transforms to a aromatic ambiance, as if you were smelling rich herbs freshly chopped. The segue has a little lightness which was seemingly delightful. It also had this woody texture behind it.

      • Then the base notes were labdanum and cedar. The smell of labdanum is often grassy at the beginning but it transcends to this humid floral aroma. Then the smell of virginia cedar wraps up the smell. This part gave the scent that masculine charisma which makes it the best asset of the scent.

I sometimes loathe when a scent is primarily derived on a single note or the name is an inspiration of one of the notes therein because it bores me and it is too common to smell but this was different. I like how strong the underlying leathery-like smell this perfume has. It was really a strong masculine smell.Another great point is how it mellows down as if it has a gentle side. When

the scent segued to the aromatic smell of sage, it was light on the nose and not annoying. It was a little playful but then the ending was a blow because of the stronger smell of cedar and labdanum. The beauty of this perfume too is the dry down. The smell of cedar was expected but the strength of labdanum giving it screams in between the smell of woody cedar gave the nuance of it a hippie translation.

The smell is not too old for me. I also like that even if it makes cedar too common, it is not that quite. So I guess this is still a lovable smell. The warmth of the background gives the common cedar smell something edgy aroma as a result.
